Anyone else looking forward to this? Westworld is an upcoming science fiction thriller television series created by Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy for HBO, based on the 1973 film of the same name, which was written and directed by American novelist Michael Crichton. Described as "a dark odyssey about the dawn of artificial consciousness and the future of sin," the series tells the story of a futuristic theme park called Westworld.
Oh hell yeah! I'm definitely looking forward to this. First I've heard of this. Westworld the movie has always been a cult favorite of mine. The sequel (Futureworld) was a disappointment. But, man, I have a feeling HBO is going to kill it and make it way more than it ever was. And, they got Ed Harris to play the bad robot villain. That guy can act and is one of my faves. Sweet!
Glad HBO is doing this, I have faith in them. It would have been interesting, probably disappointingly so, if the movie remake with Arnold in the Yul Brenner role had ever happened.
I remember seeing a trailer (or something) for this around the beginning of the year and being really intrigued.
I had no idea they had an original TV series based on the movies/books that only aired three episodes (five were made) and these are available on Warner Bros and Amazon's online store sites. And, Paul Stanley from KISS directed the third episode. Okay, it wasn't KISS's Paul Stanley. Anybody seen these episodes? Since it was canceled after 3 episodes, I'm guessing it's junk.
I had no idea they were doing this, the original film is an old favorite of mine so I'll definitely be checking this out.

Wait this doesn't come out until October? Lame, they made it seem like this was going to pop up in a month or two. Ah well. Looks interesting.
