[TV] Mr. Robot Season 2

I just found season one on Amazon Prime Video and watched last night. Looking forward to episode 2 tonight. I'll dvr Season 2 and start that after I enjoy season1 at a leisurely pace.

 

Been waiting for this one, interested to see where it goes.

 

This is a great show. USA put the first hour of the premiere on their social media accounts but I held off from watching so I could get the full two hours together. I've heard it doesn't disappoint.

 

This seems to have been written as strictly a one-season show...like a mini-series/movie almost with a clear ending. Not sure how this works after the reveal.

But oh well, I'm in.

 

Will it be on any apps ie prime?

But you need a TV provider login. And I think you can't watch it the day of the live episode release...ie must wait one day. I suspect USA will retain exclusivity to Season 2, until its completion, then Prime might get it like they have Season 1.

 

Season 1 was supposedly 1/3 of the story the director pitched. We'll see how it goes.

 

Great two episodes so far. I hope they don't keep Elliott isolated from everyone else for too long because that will get really annoying.

 

man this show is insufferable, like the college kid who comes home after his first semester and starts telling his parents how awful America/capitalism is and the virtues of communism

they picked poor timing with Sanders losing and Venezuela going down the crapper

also has all the common narrative crutches Dexter was mocked for (inner monologue, imaginary friends, flashbacks, dream sequences, hallucinations)

 

I really struggle with wanting to care about this show. It is a very mixed bag.

The pilot was one of the best pilots I have ever seen. Then a few of the subsequent episodes were incoherent garbage and almost made me give up on the show. The last few episodes picked back up to regain my interest slightly.

Rami Malek is excellent in his role. The villain is straight out of a Bret Easton Ellis novel. The Darlene character is insufferably annoying.

I feel incredibly conflicted.

Also getting the college activist vibe that Commodore mentioned. It's really become a mess.

That being said, I still am in love with the show's style and soundtrack. But I'm not sure if that's going to be enough to keep me interested.

 

Is every form of entertainment a political debate for you?

 

I'm confused why one would watch a show that one finds "insufferable", but that's okay!

I like it. First two episodes were very fun for me!
