So you are now aligning yourself with the NCAA's position on this issue to make your case? Do YOU believe it's a job or not? You do those actual slave revolts a disservice when you treat voluntary decisions by people to be similar to what they went through. No one is making these people play college football and no one is conning them into it. They are being compensated, whether you think it's a fair amount or not. They make the decisions out of their own free will based on their own cost-benefit analysis. If they didn't think it worked in their favor, they would not sign up to play. They are also free to opt-out of them at any point when they no longer feel it's beneficial (Clowney, Oliver). To act like that is the moral equivalent of fighting slavery is beyond ignorant.
Yes, it's a job, and the NCAA should be obliterated for pretending that it's not and evading labor laws and antitrust laws for decades in a scam that would put Fred Trump in a moral quandary. What about actual slaves? The NCAA plantation isn't that bad compared to them! - What about the real Jim Crow laws? Having to show voter ID isn't that bad compared to the old Jim Crow south, so calling it neo-Jim Crow isn't warranted. Whataboutism is for scoundrels, major/MAGAjor.
Is there anybody out there who cares about our injured QB? Any reports whatsoever? Surely a MRI has been done by now, and they know something. It is like there is a complete news blackout on the subject. King's health is not only critical to him and his family, but to the team going forward.
yeah it doesn't. hope for the best. it looked like Courtney Lark suffered a major injury a couple weeks ago when he got carted off. It didn't turn out to be that way
I do not like Oliver's reaction to get at the coach, but the coach went to take off his jacket with cameras all over the place. Coach Applewhite should of told his assistants to take his jacket during half-time, or don't come out with it. This should never been an issue if coach didn't actually pull a jacket of a player. You will not see Saban, or Swinney ever do it, but you may see Pee Wee Herman do it.
Applewhite did not have the big picture in mind. That's a failure on his part. If your a 4 or 5 star recruit, and you see that, your not coming. Sure, you might be telling everyone the rules are the same for everyone, but you just stuck a knife in your program. The decision was easy. The players are not going to support this anyway so what did you gain there. Lose - Lose. Agree with dealing with it in the locker room.
