Trump has never been an actual Conservative.

This may be his most ignorant tweet yet. He's comparing us to countries who are not anywhere close to us in cases. Stop the spread, control the situation, and then, and only then should you open schools.

3 day averages of new daily cases:

    US 48,778
    Germany. 312
    Sweden. 255
    Denmark. 12
    Norway. 7

Threats to cut off funding is twisted, dangerous, and irresponsible.

Nor have the Republicans left in the party that still support Trump. The presentation of being a "Conservative" by Republicans prior was a tool they were using to politically attack Democratic Administrations starting with Jimmy Carter. It's worked quite well for them to pull the "Two Santa Clause" objective.

If you are a real Conservative, you've been gone for awhile (see George Will, Justin Amash, Rick Wilson, etc.) Some like Mitt Romney are still trying to walk on both sides of the isle, but everyday they teeter the more ridiculous they look.

Trumplicans are a party of Billionaire Givaways (more corrupt trickle down economics), White Nationalism, and the un-separation of Church & State. It's a triad coalition that serves those three units with a autocrat at the top as their cleric. The most important being the billionaires because if he didn't have the funding from those Oligarchs, he wouldn't have the propaganda to fund his messaging to the other two legs of his stool he's prop up on.

Donald Trump can go to hell, as can any representative that supports risking the lives of Americans in the name of reelection. As a parent of a five-year-old daughter, I’d love nothing more than to have an opportunity to give Trump a piece of my mind for prioritizing his reelection over the health and safety of Americans. He’s a disgrace.

Also, there’s no way my daughter would be taking in-person classes this fall even if she was already in the K-12 system. As it is, my wife and I are holding her back a year from starting Kindergarten until August 2021 because we don’t want her first year to be done virtually unless we have no other alternative.

Most of my kids can take a bad year, learning nothing online or boycotting altogether. One of them needs this year as the jumping off point for school applications. Really infuriating how we're totally botching the response.

Wishing students a good year and to study hard equaled big government and a socialist agenda just 5 years ago

Fully agree. That the GOP let their drive for power overwhelm principles is what has allowed them to be taken over by a con man.

Conservatism by nature is opposed to Populism except that now it's been coopted by the latter. In many ways we have a mix of the worst of both. We have regressive tax cuts and cuts in regulation that endanger workers while having trade and immigration policies driven by narrow nationalist interest and xenophobia.

“Conservative” as defined by the Romney-Ryan agenda just do not have enough public support go do anything without them also roping in the Trumpians.

While I no longer have younger kids, I feel for those with school age children.

My sister is a principal in a large (unnamed) Texas metro area. Although she and her colleagues know that the prognosis for success is grim, they are being force-marched by the powers that be into putting children in harm's way.

For professionals like her who have taken their responsibility to care for and educate our children as a calling, it is a shame that when the worst happens, as it will, she will be held accountable for the harm to these children that she was forced to do by the ****ing powers that be...

Where will Abbott or Dip$hit be when the inevitable happens and these kids start getting sick? When they they start dying?

This has been a clusterf#$k from the get go... and comforting that no where in the secretary of heath and human services indicate that the safety and health of children and teachers is part of the trump admin's guidance...

So then sign the ****ing CARES 2 which - guess who, Moscow Mitch, has been sitting on for months

You can't reopen state and local schools without allocation of tons of money to states and localities. Full stop.

and this was as glaringly true back in the Spring as it is now. So ****ing do it already. Or just ****ing quit you coward.
