Sickening no ethics, George dubyas lawyer during the wh years just fired shots at trump's state of mind. Clever to do it while there is something yuge going on with harvey.
Yeah. I'm sure it's a bad move. I mean Sherrif Joe did violate court orders. He refused to abide by them and it's a bad thing. It sends a message that if you support Trump you can commit crimes and be forgiven... I guess. But to me, Sherrif Joe has always been just a clown and I haven't really ever been able to take him seriously. So I'm probably wrong for not getting too worked up about this pardon.
If a white supremacist sympathizer pardoning a corrupt racist responsible for targeting and harassing thousands of people doesn't get you too worked up then what on Earth would? Trump is a piece of **** and this is the umpteenth reason why.
So, a maximum sentence of up to 6 months is way too much for willfully violating an order of the court. this is Trump's "law and order" wink wink
and then the announcement of the resignation of Nazi sympathizer Sebastian Gorka, all after 8PM on a Friday, the most opportune time for a news dump
This is just a dry run to see if pardons actually work. I truly think Trump thought people were messing with him when they said he could pardon pretty much anyone.. He's making sure his pen works when it comes time to pardon his administration and his family. PLUS he can say he actually accomplished something.
Meh, this isn't much of a deal. It's certainly not on the level of pardoning a traitor or an outright terrorist like the previous administration did on the way out
I mean, not that big of a deal. They are something like 4% of the population and sure they are embarrassing, but in the larger picture, they aren't really a big deal, no. That said, this thread isn't about white supremacists.....so maybe you are lost.
There are hundreds of statues of traitors across this nation. Why do you care about 'traitors' all of a sudden?
Oscar Lopez-Rivera was a pretty huge deal too. Perhaps it's time to revoke that power as you say given how it has been used....or misused in the past.
2nd chances are fine, usually. Just need to elect better President, and maybe have a check on pardon power - 2/3 to override for example. Manning doesn't belong in that list - served 6 years, was commuted, not pardon. Amnesty International said Manning's leaks exposed violations of human rights and requested for pardon. Received 100k+ signatures for WH to reply to pardon request.
A racist that targets minorities with barbaric tactics, practices civil rights violations and is a massive hypocrite that doesn't think he the law needs to apply to him? Hell, I'm surprised Trump didn't also put up a poster of him at Mar A Lago after he pardoned him.
I was already worked up about Trump and his handling of the Virginia terrorist incident. So I didn't need this to get me angrier. It does get me slightly angrier, but judging this action in and of itself, I'm against it. I'm not a fan of any of his tactics and believe they are indeed racist. It is a straw to add to the camel's back with Trump.
