I might have the same concern, but I honestly think both sides realize (whether they admit or not) that Trump has put up record numbers of incredibly unqualified candidates.

I don't think any president from either party other than Trump could make as many poor decisions as Trump.

    Interesting.

I wonder why Trump threw him under the bus so fast.

While trump could have reacted to the news without thinking (which is always possible with trump), I suspect he only used the timing of the news as a reason to get out from the Jackson nomination since there were already a number of senators opposed to his nomination (because of his qualifications, or lack of) before the news. Someone who had a closer count likely advised trump to start distancing himself... and since its unusual that he does, the adviser must have had a pretty good idea that the nomination was in big trouble.

So, despite trump's attempt to blame Senator Tester, it was Pence's doctor that got Jackson out...

Why didn't he say anything in February 2017? If there was a HIPAA violation, wouldn't he have been bound by professional ethics to do something about it? Not that he seems like a guy too worried about ethics.

Probably because he was pissed then but was REALLY pissed when he called The Donald to ask for a job in the last 10 days and got turned down lol. Maybe he was hoping to be the next head of the VA, or hell, maybe NASA.

Is tester going to resign? I haven't heard his justifications yet.

For what? Saying something that wasn't true about a potential government official? Should we agree that this should be the new standard for resignation? Does Trump have veto power over that before he's forced to resign or no?

    That’s pretty crazy.

I thought Tester's stunt was shameful, but he's an elected Rep. Maybe his constituents should vote him out, but no way should he resign. If shameful stunts were the criteria, Trump should have resigned 50 times by now.

Right, that's my point. I don't know all the details about how much of what he was said was false, but let's assume most of it for a minute. Saying something dishonest to hurt a political opponent is kind of a hallmark of this administration. If they all had to resign for saying something dishonest we'd have a hard time figuring out who was left in the presidential line of succession.

Trump owes Jon Tester one heck of an apology — and his thanks
