Thank goodness. That he's still connected to his businesses while in office ranks with withholding his tax returns from the American people as an outrage, an affront to the office of President, the difference being that what he's being sued for is very possibly illegal. In my opinion.
I think MD and DC have a tough uphill climb to try to get courts to find against a sitting president. But, it should be tried.
Trump has been trying to have his Justice Department change the rules to allow him to skate past the Emoluments Clause of the US Constitution. You see... Trump isn't one to follow laws or rules... even the US Constitution. Way more important for Trump to make his profits... http://bbs.clutchfans.net/index.php?threads/trump-and-swamp-drainage.279513/page-6#post-11134540
If we can get Trump to END PAY 4 PAY and DRAIN THE SWAMP, maybe Trump will retire sooner because he can steal from the government anymore? Why else is he doing a job he so ****ing hates?
I was surprised to not see a thread about the suit already. I see it was in the swamp thread... which is fitting.
You really should start just one "Faux outrage story of the day" thread and post them all there. It would clean things up considerably.
Who is outraged? I'm glad they're suing him. Trump might be outraged, but it wouldn't be faux in his case, I don't think.
The implication is that 2 state AG's are outraged and that's why the filed suit. A suit that won't go anywhere, but it'll work as the story of the day.
I don't agree that someone should have to divest of their business interests to run for president That type of thinking ensures only career politicians be able to run I wonder what specific claims this lawsuit makes
