I don't... this sounds sorta swampy, no? You would think there would be laws against something like this...

A sitting president of the United States, borrowing a large sum of money from a small Florida bank?

UPDATE: the portion of the tweet about trump appointing the bank CEO is incorrect... presidents don't appoint board members to the Fed banks. The article referenced by the tweet correctly reports that (see excerpt)

to the extent that Turtle-face's wife

was an Econ major and had earned a MBA from Harvard,
had risen to be a Vice President for syndications at Bank of America Capital Markets Group,
worked as an International banker for CitiCorp,

she knew what she was doing; it's all about the profit

There is no need to hide or be less conspicuous about one's corruption when you know will always have the uncritical, unthinking loyalty of a certain segment of the FoxNews watching population .

And to think, this corrupt administration and the GOP are in charge of our election security.

Elaine Chao / Turtle-Faced McConnell's Bridge to China

Elaine Chao's father came from a wealthy family in China w political connections to the ruling KMT party; during China's civil war ~ 1949 , the KMT was defated / overthrown by Mao's CCP. Like other well-connected KMT members, he was able to flee China to the island province of Taiwan which was protected by the US government.

Elaine Chao was born in Taiwan and, at age 8, immigrated to upstate NY.

As China was emerging from decades of turmoil in 1984, the Chao family took a stake in a state-owned Chinese manufacturer of marine electronic equipment, documents show. The company targeted sales to China’s military, among other sectors, and was closely affiliated with a ministry run by a Mr. Jiang. After Mr. Jiang came to lead the Communist Party a few years later, Mr. Chao met with him at least six times, including in August 1989 in Beijing — inside the party’s secretive leadership compound. Chao family members said they could not recall this investment.

Foremost Group, the New York-based shipping company founded by Elaine Chao's father in 1964, landed its first big contract with the United States government, shipping rice to Southeast Asia during the Vietnam War.

Now, it builds most of its ships in state-owned shipyards in China, with some financed by Chinese government loans. In at least two instances, those Chinese-backed, Chinese-built ships entered long-term contracts to deliver iron ore for a state-owned steel maker.

More than 70 percent of Foremost’s freight goes to China, and most of that is iron ore, according to recent shipping data. The cargo helps feed China’s industrial machine, which manufactures steel products that are a point of dispute in the deepening trade war between China and the United States. The company describes itself as a small international business and says it does not have a particular focus on China, beyond what most dry bulk carriers have in a world dominated by Chinese manufacturing.

This twitter thread details the depth of corruption... and, our tax dollars went to the design of custom made luggage tags?

This tweet highlights Department of Transportation efforts to mask the communications between the DOT staff and Foremost (Chao's family shipping business in China). Except the DOT staff neglected to redact the fax number for Foremost.

And this tweet has the email that shows the State Department raising ethics concerns that led to the cancellation of the trip:

Truly amazing that the corruption of chao/mcconnell/trump admin isn't sparking more outrage.

Chao created special path for McConnell’s favored projects
A top Transportation official helped coordinate grant applications by McConnell’s political allies.
