Texans won't be interested. Why go for such a high upside move when you have Kalil?

Why would the Texans trade for an aging LT. Trent Williams is 31 years old, same age as Duane Brown was when he got traded.

Didn't you just answer your own question? Duane Brown was an "aging LT" according to you, yet there was a market for him...because at least one other team thought he would be valuable.

Because our o-line sucked last year and we didn’t do enough to fix it in the offseason.

    Not my job, John!

They're just following the lead of the other 2 Houston teams.

Seriously, when is the last time the Astros or Rockets made a big move?

    Wait, what?

If the Texans cared about winning, or the health of their franchise QB, then they would do it.

Duane Brown made the Pro Bowl and all pro teams after the age of 31.

but you are right, the Texans don't care about winning nor keeping Watson from running for his life, so they will sit on their $38m of cap space.

WE KNOW HOW BAD YOUR TAKES ARE.....we can look Clutchfans' History (JJ Watt, anyone?). Anyway, maybe keeping that extra cap space is for Watson, Fuller, Clowney, and other u have to sign very soon? Spending cap space just to spend it is not smart. Over paying a 31 year old LT may not be good business. Plus, you will have to give up at least 2 and maybe a 3 or 4 (Im sure Washington is asking of a #1). So, it is not as easy as just giving Williams money.

I don't disagree with you on the spending just for the sake of spending...But leaving all that money on the table when they had opportunities to use it to improve the team makes even less sense. And they've done this for seasons in a row. It's not like there hasn't been a market for OL in the past few off-seasons...and they've done next to nothing at the position.

Nate Solder: Outbid by the Giants. He was HORRIBLE in 2018. Overpaid.

Raiders overpaid for Trent Brown, who the Patriots didn't try to keep.

The problem with Williams is that he was more money AND you have to give up draft picks.

    Texans in 2019.
They drafted 2 Tackles in the 1st and 2nd round. They signed Kahlil. That is not "next to nothing". Just because they didn't overpay for Tackles that are not Elite or near Elite.......doesn't mean they didn't do anything.

Pancakes just said on 610 that they’re not going to bring him in so trade is imminent I’m assuming.

Trent Williams is elite. He is not old by ol standards. I would trade him for a second and a fourth in a second.

A lot at play here. Williams could follow the Duane Brown model and play out this season with a new team and hope for a new contract after. Think you'd have a lot of suitors and think the Texans would be dumb not to pursue a one year prove-it type deal which they seem to like. If he wants a new deal before reporting to anyone, sure he knows that's a huge limitation for teams.

Deshaun Watson with time to throw can destroy the league.

    Get Trent Williams.

    It’s your biggest freaking need.

Probably wait for patriots 3rd string tackle to be released then OB will sign him.

You don't understand. He may not report without a new contract. NO WAY he takes a prove it deal.

Slow your roll there. He may not report to the Redskins without a new deal, that’s the only thing that’s been reported.

And that’s why I said prove it “type” deal. It’s what Duane Brown did few years ago, play out the season with a new team under your current deal with hopes of getting a new one after.
