I think that follow up hammer fist that Ngannou does after the initial knockout punch is life threatening. He lifted Arlovski off his feet with a right and almost took Overeem's head off his shoulders with a left. When he comes down on a knocked out opponent's face with a hammer punch, their head has nowhere to go since they are laying on ground. The skull/brain has to absorb the full force of his strike.
I think you might want to consider giving Bisping a little credit. He spent most of his career as a average at best fighter that talked a lot of trash in the PED era. Once the UFC adopted some what of real doping rules he went to the top. I'm now curious as to how good he and others might have been if the UFC would have taken PEDs more serious along tome ago.
Looks like it will be Stipe vs. Ngannou at 220. Not to take anything from Ngannou but I was hoping Cain would get the title shot.
He's just a lucky mediocre fighter. if Luke took him seriously he would be a retired analyst since ages back.
Is Cain even healthy yet? Would probably be better to give Cain a warmup fight before letting him just jump back in for the title.
Cain is just now starting to lightly train - he'll be ready mid to late 2018 and his team wants an immediate title shot or rematch with Werdum.
Probably a rematch with Werdum would be fair and the best tuneup for a title shot. Then again, I'm sure Werdum feels he deserves the winner of Ngannou vs Miocic.
