We traded a future second round pick (and a first) in 1987 for Cornbread Maxwell in a trade with LA. After a tortured journey, that future 2nd belonged to Cleveland, who ended up picking Chucky Brown in 1989. So in a sense, we traded Chucky only to get him back years later so he could help us win our 2nd championship. Crazy how things can work out.

I never really saw Paul Pierce as a transformative player as a celtic. Not like I saw KG as a twolves. Or Dirk as a Mav. He was always a great player, but he was quickly overshadowed by the big 3.
    Even Iverson as a 76er.

I view Ray Allen the same way.

I agree, but Pierce was a really good player for Boston for a long time so he deserves the honor. And without him already in place there, KG and Ray Allen would not have been teaming up for the Celtics.

    Not on Rudy Gay's level.

Agreed. For a long time, he carried that Celtics team, making playoffs but only sent back due to lack of talent. And finally won the championship in 2008 with KG and Ray Allen. The previous time they won the championship was 1986, so Pierce deserves his place in Boston.
