So Gates was at the bottom of the pile and got the recovery and threw a punch? I'm sure Seattle was doing a lot to him at the bottom of that pile to deserve a punch.
XFL is pretty sweet. They just need more talent. Its crazy some of these dudes are making only 50/60k a year with a potential weekly bonus from every win.
Im sure at least half of them were sitting on their asses before the XFL tryouts came calling, so 50-60k with bonuses for 2 months of work is pretty sweet to them. Plus, it keeps them hungry if theyre aspiring for the NFL. We dont need any Eric Gordons out there for the ROughnecks getting lazy after a payday.
Totally agree. I hope we get a 2nd season. Unfortunately, our star QB/WR duo may be going pro in the fall. On the flip side, gotta be happy for those guys.
Definitely 2 or 3 seconds left...Roughnecks get all the breaks that we never get with that NFL franchise on Kirby.
Overcame sooo many mistakes today! Lucky the other team's qb's not much of a thrower. Still 5-0 fo' sho'. On the bright side I think this may have put at least a little damper on all this "P,J. to the NFL" talk. I mean how hard is it to figure out "just run around for a couple of seconds and heave the ball high and out of bounds"? Past the l.o.s of course. Wonder if Gates will be missing the NY game next week?
Yup. Those two 4th quarter scoring drives were nice though. One of those feelings where you knew they were going to come through. Fun to watch.
Wes Booker looked like he didn't have a clue. "There should've been 2 seconds left on the clock, but, uh, the refs and players left the field, so, uh, I guess it's over."
Yeah, I actually felt kind of sorry for the guy. I mean, I know all the officials know the situation in the XFL and know they are going to be mic'd and put on camera, etc...but he was clearly not ready for that interview. And you could just see in his face that he knew the game shouldn't be over with but he didn't really know how much authority he had to go call all the players and officials back on to the field. Crazy. I really enjoy watching PJ Walker. He had some incredibly accurate throws yesterday where he really threaded the needle. Maybe in the NFL those throws get picked and he won't ever be able to make it on the next level, but for these games, at least, it is a lot of fun to watch.
