There haven't been multiple attempts to impeach. This is the the first and only attempt.

Whether or not the Senate removes him is a separate issue. That may play badly for Republicans who refuse to act on the evidence.

I wonder what part of the conversation folks will remember from that particular witness yesterday.

Admit it. It was a deliberate slam of Trump that made her look like what she is. A partisan who brought his kid into the fray and actually built sympathy for Trump. It was STUPID to do so.

It doesn't matter what you or I think. Our votes are baked in.

But what will the swing voter think of her and her comments?

She said nothing bad about the kid, and if you believe that this was the most cogent takeaway from these proceedings then you're a lost cause anyway.

You made the point that there's been so many efforts to impeach Trump that there's a Wikipedia page devoted to it. There's a Wikipedia page about efforts to impeach every president, or at least every one I've looked up so far.

    Yes.

Here's the end of the first paragraph to that Wikipedia page.
    for Barak Obama.

There have been several attempts by Democrats in the house vs. Trump. This doesn't even count the entire special counsel devoted to Trump and Russian interference.

Your disingenousness here doesn't serve you well.

Those aren't actually attempts. Those are various groups pointing out reasons why they think he merits impeachment. Congressional Democrats aren't responsible for all of that. They are responsible for this single attempt to impeach.

not sure why this is aimed at me.

and you certainly don't know me, so this is about as weird a comment as you can make, unless it's aimed solely at theresthedagger

Huh? You can go into the Obama article and find multiple times where congressional Republicans floated the idea of impeaching him. Plus, Obama wasn't a corrupt POS that deserved to be impeached like Trump is, so there's that.

so much chaff and obfuscation, it's almost hilarious

Did he commit a Constitutionally mandated offense? Yes
Did the House act in accordance with the Constitution? Yes
Will the perpetrators testify under oath in their own defense? No
Will the Senate act faithfully in accordance with the Constitution and weigh evidence or strictly vote to preserve political power?
    Remains to be seen

(if not will the citizens act against tyranny?)

Are you serious here FB? I'm surprised at you. From the link I provided:

    1. Formal efforts were initiated by Representatives Al Green and Brad Sherman, both Democrats, in 2017, the first year of his presidency.

    2. On September 24, 2019, Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi announced that six committees would undertake formal impeachment inquiries after reports about controversial interactions between Trump and the country of Ukraine.

And then of course separate and aside from the above, there was the Mueller special counsel.

The voter who hasn't made up their mind about it probably didn't hear about that kerfuffle, or will have forgotten all about it before they reach any decision point.

There's a big difference between "floating" impeachment as a sound bite and ACTUALLY introducing impeachment articles or starting special counsels to investigate the man.

If I'm allowed to include all the sound bites just from Maxine Waters, Adam Schiff, Jerry Nadler, Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi, I would have to write a post that would take hours to research and vet.

What are you arguing here anyways? That Dems haven't been banging the impeachment drum since day 1?

Lol “formal efforts” in 2017..... a resolution failed miserably.

So then only 2019 something actually was put forth...

If 2018 (or 2016 for that matter) taught anything its that voters are pretty fickle. Counting on similar results from election to election is not a wise idea.
