Should we start up a "clowncar" thread? btw, Jeff Flake is also rumored to be thinking of making a run...

I think the right candidate could do it. Speak to integrity, speak to statesmanship and allied relations, speak to Democracy over authoritarianism, speak to fiscal conservatism and deficit reduction, rule of law

but I'm at a loss how we got here anyway so what do I know

While I don’t think Walsh will win the nomination, I think he’s the best positioned to at least do some damage to trump...much like Buchanan did to GHW Bush and Kennedy did to Carter. He’s loud enough and bombastic enough to get heard over trump. We’ll see if he can get enough momentum to get that message out to enough people in NH and Iowa. While I don’t agree with his positions overall, I appreciate that he’s reflected and seen the error of his ways in many of the things he said about President Obama and that he’s apologized for it.

Could you imagine the incredible meltdown trump would have should he lose NH?

Honestly it's too little too late. I've recently been voting in Republican primaries to help them find their way, and I might do that in 2020 if there is a real Republican primary race to weigh in on, but not for this guy.

Walsh could cause some problems for Trump -- I picture a McCain/ Bush scenario if all goes well. Trump will be severely irked if he is having to waste resources and time in New Hampshire/ etc.

to say Walsh is a light weight would be understating it !

i am looking forward to have some political heavy weight like John Kasich

All of the cockroaches are hiding out - waiting for Trump to fall to jump in the next cycle......no one has the balls to stand up to the racism - and try to be a true conservative.

Never seen a bigger cowardice play by any party in history.

Trump is rapidly losing support among even conservatives because the only thing he stands for is his own personal financial gain. Conservatives should recruit Kasich. Or ask Pence to support the 25th amendment to remove Trump since Pence is being dumped from the ticket anyway.

Don't think there's much likelihood of Pence getting dropped. He's been the perfect Yes Man.

Tulsi will run as vp because she is a russian assett. Didn't you hear?????? lol

Actually I agree... Pence has been the yes man. His job basically. I don't recall a vp who wasn't. I am sure there have been some who aren't. I for one would like a more amiable vp to run than Pence. But I will say I don't think he has done much good or bad so what honestly can we say? He doesn't go to dinner with chicks who aren't his wife?

I keep hearing people say this, but I'm just not seeing it.

Even if it were true, it won't last once the 2020 campaign officially begins. They'll all get in line just like they did in 2016. Even if Trump calls them pathetic losers!!!
