Liberals get over excited in trying to blame Trump for not acting decisively early enough, but the only countries equipped to do so are technocratic small countries where every citizen is under surveillance. Singapore, South Korea etc. This goes against the many freedoms you fight against.

Use this time to develop some humility, forget about party affiliations and look at the root cause of why so many people are suffering. The answer is clear - it is Chinese capital loving communism.

is it asking too much for trump and his administration to not go to press conferences and interviews and to blow it off and say things like it is the Dems that are trying to get Trumpnout of office comparing it to impeachment and Mueller’s investigation?

For people in congress to to make a farce with gasmasks? Or to have testing to at least some degree better than they did?

If that’s too much ask and one should not be frustrated and angry by that then so be it.

you can find fault in China and the US’s response both. They are not mutually exclusive by any means.

Good to see you read The Atlantic. Their articles are usually well researched, trustworthy, and well written. They might broaden your perspective with routine visits to the site. I hope it wasn't just a cherry picked article reinforcing a singular obsession...

If you aren't frustrated and angry with the situation as a whole then you are not human. It is something we knew was coming, from China, as it has many times in the past, but wasn't an exciting enough issue to pour funds and preparedness into. It wasn't a fun political talking point like what bathroom to go to, planned parenthood, terrorism etc. Democrats and Republicans are both guilty of this.

Why should Trump comply with the press after they spent so much time and money on a pointless impeachment? That kind of stuff only makes him more popular amongst people who can't stand politicians. His way of con artistry is more in your face and blatant and appreciated in tougher times for many.

The media did this to themselves as did democrats. They lost the 2016 election, trump didn't win it, and it continues today with making a bruhaha out of calling it the China virus which is exactly where it originated. Where was this offense over the Middle East Respiratory Syndrome? If you could prioriize accountability over pointless PC debate amongst faux college intellectuals, democrats would win every election easily.

Why is it that you and the right only got pissed off at China in the last week. Before that Trump wasn't attacking China, he was trying to work with China. But once his admin got criticized for their bungled response and the typical blame the Dems wasn't sticking, he and you all of a sudden are angry with China.

Save the BS. That's what it is. BS meant to distract from the failures of Trump. No one is on China's side. That's the biggest lie meant to drum up patriotism and deflect from the horrible president Trump is.

Americans aren't buying it. We are stuck with this damn virus because of China AND Trump. At least we'll be getting rid of Trump in a few months.

The only people extending the PC argument are conservative outlets who want to paint liberals as naive. Same with the “Starbucks: War on Christmas” nonsense. China and Trump can be blamed simultaneously. No one disagrees with you on the fact that the Chinese government sucks. Calling it the China Virus or whatever you want to refer to it as only creates prejudice against Chinese Americans. Nobody is saying China isn’t to blame. It’s a stupid, empty victory to claim the name battle in favor of Trump. Just petty ignorance....the key to beating the virus is by sticking it in a chair and saying “You are the China virus” three times in a row until it evaporates; by god you’ve solved it

I'm almost convinced of this. I think if you just start one or two more threads about China and Covid19, I will really believe it.

Instead of placing blame (we are a bit past that) if chinese are so damn sensitive and prideful we as a world should shame them into into it not being a thing to eat bat and similar. As in = "cool people dont eat bat"

As a trade off we will stop eating raccoon and gator in usa. If we make it understood and scape goat that bag or pagollin is something inedible like mushrooms /bleach/slugs/et al then maybe just maybe we can turn a corner in society on not eating virus infected animals! Its not that hard. Do you eat rocks or dirt? Dont FU*cking eat bats!

Lets show the chinese here the rat and roach report on marvin zindler and ask the hard question 'why is your sh*it always on the list and develop task force of clean and world campaign. Lets help to shame their sensitive feelings into the idea of mixing in some soap and water..

Why do you think washing hands became a thing? It took friggin thousands of years.

How meat is slaughtered or how we cut our dicks 2000 years ago is directly related to sanitary complication lack thereof.
Make health inspectors a thing. This is education and culture behavior..

China is good at copying then kicking ass now its time to try to elighten the masses to the idea of clean.kick our ass at being clean. Lets all have this clean olympics.. Its not that hard..if you look at world deaths things like shigellosis is directly related to feces clean etc.

Trying to build some narrative is petty and only makes you look racist. Im not chinese and my wife says im racist because i say they need to step up their soap and water game. Im racist against things like e coli dystentery and likely your mom but thats another story.
    LOL

Most people are angrier now that it impacted their life... before it wasn't as tangible. It has little to do with Trump. Watching you get angry at Trump is funny though. Please tell us more about how he is the only person who deserves blame.

China destroyed evidence and silenced doctors to cover up this mess since November and failed to close down their airports and prevent large gatherings in areas with known infections. This is beyond BAT SOUP, dick cutting procedures, and washing hands.

Hey let's shame them into having a free and open society. Oh wait that won't work because they are a communist dictatorship!

The only solution is complete isolation until they collapse. NATO needs to expand its mission now.

    cats outta the bag partner.
    Bat is the cause.
We can do this and that with nato or we can have folks lay off the bat.

Coincidentally bat is possible origin of ebola. So now with internet and us all world wide chatting...and regimes like usa or china or whoever can regulate as needed but the bottom line is we need to go sans bat. Aka no bueno el bato.
    Bat = bad
    Bat free weekend
    Ya dig?

Bats are dangerous for sure, but China is the true threat. They let the China Aids spread on purpose and actively did nothing to stop it.

Now China will start blaming the outside world as part of its propaganda efforts... deflect blame by increasing anger toward the outsiders and America to get its angry and unhappy people off their back. A common enemy scenario. I would believe them but A: they are Communist China and B: They expelled foreign reporters because they knew they would need to for this next phase where they will be lying through their teeth that all the cases are from outside.

China sees record number of imported coronavirus cases

I wouldnt say on purpose. I suppose they thought they could contain it like other outbreaks and yes as I say they are sensitive keystone cops. Its more important to save face. We can get into long talks about cultural philosophy but thats not going to help us much today with the shi*t stick we are holding right now.

Im pissed too and chances are i wont eat kung pao chicken in protest but all in all there is not much can do going forward.

They did some jackass things and like any review lessons learned - we will all need to look at this sh*it and see how to move forward. China sucks..we get it...how do we as a world scold them for not taking out the trash? Can we as a world try not to eat bat?

What else? Invade china? Take it over and close all the bat markets? We don't give a rats ass about that! But how do we get their gov to be better? Fyi our gov aint exactly killing it either but yes the stuff china does is nasty..particularly the Muslim prisoners. That is separate of eating bat and being a keystone cop with a heavy hand..im sure everyone here wants what is best for the people of china same way for the dudes in huts in Oaxaca or darfur. Cmon

Umm.. I’m pretty sure you should be allowed to blame and shame any world leader (especially your own) who suppresses the truth and makes up fantasy about the pandemic just for short term political gain. The two are not mutually exclusive.

Trump is OUR president and is failing us and lying to us on a daily basis along with not doing a damn thing to support the states who are basically fighting this alone with little federal support.

He’s our problem. Xi is a problem too and deserves blame for doing exactly what Trump did at the beginning to suppress facts and lie to avoid short term political fallout and economic panic. Xi and the Chinese government deserve blame for allowing unsanitary food preparation of course. The world needs a coherent response to them to change their behavior once this is solved, but right now it’s not the time to spend much anger on China when we have a tsunami of our own catastrophes in the making we have to deal with at home. Trump being the major roadblock to a coherent federal response.
