I don't think he was a freak as much as the rest of the players in that era were noobs lol. I guess in a way that does make him a freak for being so much ahead of his time but in a vacuum I don't think Charmberla8n would shine compared to true freaks like Lebron, Durant, Giannis, Kawhi etc.

Clint would be perfect for this team if he had more of a presence in the paint defensively...teams don’t fear going at him and challenging him in the paint

offensively, he’s fine...he’s great at running the PnR, he runs the floor, he finishes well, he’s knocking down his free throws, he’s getting rebounds...all he lacks is that elite level intimidation at the rim

I feel like the shortened pre-season with so many new rotation players coming in and Paul being hurt for most of it held us back in experimenting with rotations. In the past it's been more clear who should start but at the 3 and 4 I could see going a lot of different ways.

Ariza, Anderson, Tucker, Mbah a Moute, and (when Paul is back) Gordon should all be competing for starting forward spots.

Pretty awesome to see this team coming together and knowing that we still get to add Chris freaking Paul to it, btw. Honestly I keep forgetting and then remembering and freaking out about how much better we're going to be. This squad isn't playing as well as it can; it's still ironing stuff out but it's having such success! And that we're tied for 1st while a perennial assist leader/all-star/all-defensive player sits on our bench to be added later. And that Morey never stops working to improve the team. I know that means we're going to have to part with some players I love because I'm pretty attached to our whole 10-man rotation, even underdog Ryan Anderson.

I'm seeing Anderson working harder and showing at least some improvement. First of course it seems his shot is falling more reliably which, it's about time! Also I'm seeing improved effort making a difference on defense which is a heck of a nice thing to have - the D part of his '3 and D' is not a non-factor/doesn't make him a liability - he really seems to be trying out there lately and he's had small successes with centers when Clint and Nene couldn't. I know his contract makes him our weak link but we could do a lot worse as weak links go. Most weak links don't occasionally drop 20+ points on a streak of 3's. Anderson seems to be finding his shot, after a long drought, which is why we signed him. And, as I said, I'm seeing more effort on defense than last year out of him too.

And we have 8 other guys that are arguably as good or better than him. It's a good time to be a Houston sports fan.

And to get back to the point of the thread, every time I talk Rockets with Morey I remind him how upset I'll be if we ever part with Capela and I'm glad the Jordan deal fell through if it was real. Since his rookie year I've been saying I want him to retire in a Rockets jersey. We have NO IDEA what Clint Capela's ceiling is.

    Small success is just wrong.
Ryan Anderson has been elite (Yes, i said elite) on defense the last couple of games. He defended Gasol,Embiid and KP better than i could have ever imagined. Also he shut Dwight down when Capela was getting raped by him. If he keeps that up i don't even care that much about the Road/Home thing, because he has really been great defensively.

We are so used to him sucking a huge one defensively, that it is completely under the radar because we don't even watch it close enough.

nah, just saying that if he had elite level rim protection then he’d be the perfect C for us...he’s already pretty good for us offensively
