Settling with NU/CU did not set a precedent. Obviously A&M would like the same treatment but the Big XII has no legal obligation to do so.

No, A&M should have left last year. It's a different game.

That street goes both ways. The circumstances under which A&M agreed to stay were altered. It's a different game, too.

If he grew up watching the longhorns, how is that weird if he roots for the longhorns regardless of whether he went to the school or not? It's not like he changes team every year.

Good luck getting anything more out of A&M. It is going to be a huge fight for them to get anything else and it's going to cost them a lot of time and money to get it as well. There is a reason why they settled for half with CU and Nebraska and it is going to happen again. You think the Big XII just let NU and CU off the hook out of the kindness of their hearts?

Oh, while A&M is hosting the likes of LSU, Alabama, Florida, Auburn, Tennessee, and Georgia at Kyle field over the next few years, here is a look at the Texas home schedule. Perfectly defines why going to the SEC is going to be much more fun.

I'll bet this schedule just gets everyone fired up in Austin.

    2012
    Wyoming
    New Mexico
    Iowa State
    BAylor
    Missouri
    A&M replacement

    2013
    New Mexico St
    Ole Miss
    Ok St
    Kansas
    Texas Tech
    KSU

    2014
    N. Texas
    BYU
    Iowa State
    Baylor
    Missouri
    A&M replacement

You already know what's coming from them. "So what? We have easier path than aggy! While aggy is doormat in SEC, Longhorn run table in Bevo9!"

You mean the same schedule that Aggies have been playing the past 20years, without any complaints? Doesn't really require a big time opponent for us Longhorns to fill up all 110k seats in DKR.

    Forgot to add,
We will be hosting Notre Dame in a few years, along with Cal. Not to mention we will be playing teams like OSU, who has beaten ATM the last few years.

I'm sure Aggy games will be very exciting, until Alabama runs for over 300 yards and wins 40-3

Yeah, the same exact schedule. Minus Colorado, Nebraska and TAMU.

Yeah, you left games out. Not to mention that OU-UT is still played in TX and is the marquee game in the region compared to A&M vs anyone (unless its UT lol).

Also, aside from LSU, those teams you listed will visit Kyle field once every 8 years, pending how the divisions get aligned.

Exciting games, such as Kentucky, Vanderbilt, and Ole Miss! In addition to the same cupcake teams that everybody plays at the start of the season.

The same schedule, minus Texas/A&M and Nebraska, of course.

And while it's true that we fill up the stadium, that's in part because the school sells severely discounted tickets. The athletic department was selling tickets for Rice and Kansas a few weeks ago for $30 - these are $75 face value tickets. Tickets for Rice were going for $20 or so on Stubhub. So yes, if the price goes low enough, the stadium will fill up.

If you ask a fan if they'd rather go see a game vs Rice or vs Nebraska or A&M or LSU or Florida, they'll answer the latter every time. For all the arguments for/against A&M, the silliest is trying to argue that Texas' schedule will be just as interesting to fans as A&M's - especially when it's so easy to measure and prove wrong with ticket prices.

Yeah, I'm not trying to argue about whose schedule will be more exciting. Of course, SEC with Florida, LSU, Bama, SCar, (maybe Georgia), Arkansas is going to be more exciting lol

I think what will get people fired up in Austin is continuing to get 4 & 5 star recruits and playing in a third title game in recent memory. The cream always rises to the top.

Yeah that or getting 4 & 5 star recruits, finishing 5-7 with those recruits, and then winning the next year by 1 point at home to a BYU team that gets thrashed by Utah at home the next week. Sounds about right.

Come to think of it, that actually sounds a lot like Baylor Basketball

Meh Baylor's elite 8 run was hella more exciting than the annual one and done campaign the Aggies put on.

One bad season in like forever for Texas. That BYU win was with Gilbert at the helm. You of all people should know that it's always about solid QB play. A&M would have been a joke last season if they stuck with Johnson.

Winning is more fun than losing, at least for me. I remember when the Texans had a killer schedule a few years ago. I wasn't excited watching all those quality teams kick our butts.
