Based on the initial reactions in this thread regarding kickers... yes, yes it should.

Not to defend Bullock, or anything - but why didn't New York go for 2 there? Up 20-19, that extra point is meaningless. If I'm a Giant fan, and my new coach blows a call that easy... I'm a little worried.

It will be difficult for Fat Randy to find another gig in the NFL. He's a 4th year kicker who's already been cut/not signed 3 times.

They were tied 19-19. He missed the kick on the 2nd TD.

I didn't realize it was Bullock that missed it. I told my homeboy, damn this kicker sucks. Then, I looked a little closer, and thought, "damn that is one fat ass kicker" and then realized it was the one and only Fat Randy.

Just goes to show, that if a team drafts you in the fifth round as a kicker, you will not succeed with said team.

    See Daniel Carlson.

We're starting to see the kicking position is a lot like baseball. Performance at lower levels means nothing if you're able to kick on the big stage. Doesn't make a lot of sense, since its basically the same fields, same balls, same conditions... but that's where the mental component is just that much a part of the game, and you cannot simulate that at a combine or OTA.

If I had aspirations of contending, I'd be leery of any rookie kicker... and I certainly wouldn't invest huge resources or multiple picks in acquiring one.
