Texans hire Brad Seely as Special Teams Coordinator

Fair. I'm not buying what others are saying about the problem being just a lack of talent. They were bad with Trindon Holiday, who turned out a stellar season at Denver. They were bad with Jacoby and he got a pro bowl in Baltimore and ran one back in the super bowl (if I remember correctly). They'e had Bouye, Charles James, and Kevin Johnson. They have had some talent on special teams.

 

I think it's a combo of multiple things and coaching is DEFINITELY a problem. However, talent doesn't mean "talented players." ST coverage is a real skill. The Patriots and 49ers (49ers under this coach specifically) actually searched out players who were good at ST. ST coverage was their skill.

Texans have tried to have it both ways, which I don't blame them for. My hope is they are hiring a proven ST coach who has always targeted ST players and advocated for them and that this means they are changing their whole approach.

 

Haha wow. I did totally forget that. That's a guy who couldn't hold a job for more than a few years.

 

Remember Joe Marciano? Lions found out the hard way.

 

Lulz. That guy will have another job lined up next year. Dont ask me how or why, its a mystery to anyone. And people think Sam Braford is a con artist.
