    Yeah but what if he signs with a team like the Patriots... we likely get two ~32nd overall draft picks for the next couple years?

    Plus he'd bolster another AFC rival on top of the lousy first round picks.

    The only thing he can do is argue, is hes a DE and not a OLB and should be tagged correctly.

    Oh I thought they were reverted as THAT TEAM'S first round picks for franchise tags.

    Even so, still worth it if I'm a contending team like the Patriots.

    You are right. The team that signs the player has to give up 2 of THEIR 1st round picks. These won't be the normal compensatory picks.

    I'd almost rather save the cap space and get two first rounders for him.

    I don't think he's worth the money he's gonna demand.

    Save cap space for what/who? They can literally pay Clowney, Trent Brown, Tyrann, and Kareem if they wanted to.
