    Ceremonies

    Halftime show - Justin Timberlake

    Background:
A rematch of 2005's Super Bowl XXXIX, which was won by New England 24–21, Super Bowl LII is the first Super Bowl appearance for the Eagles since that game. The Patriots became the first team since the Seattle Seahawks (who made Super Bowl XLVIII and Super Bowl XLIX) to appear in two consecutive Super Bowls, having won Super Bowl LI in the previous season, and are also seeking to become the first team to repeat as Super Bowl victors since the Patriots themselves won Super Bowl XXXVIII and Super Bowl XXXIX.

Fun fact: Eagles beat the same teams in 2005 to get to the SB only to lose to the Patriots.
    2005
    Won
    Divisional Playoffs (Vikings) 27–14
    Won NFC Championship (Falcons) 27–10
Lost Super Bowl XXXIX (vs. Patriots) 21–24

    2018
    Won Divisional Playoffs (Falcons) 15–10
    Won NFC Championship (Vikings) 38–7
    Super Bowl LII (vs. Patriots)

Eagles have zero chance. Not happening. Foles had a career game; won't happen again. Eagles defense was super fired up for Vikes, won't reach that level again against Pats. Cancel the game, give the trophy to NE and let's move on.

    Patriots 32 Eagles 10.

It will be interesting to see who the local fans root for, but outside of that this game be like watching a Patriot fight for independence all day and all night, and after victory, drenched in blood and tears, you see them drinking the finest brew by light of fire, and licking the last piece of meat from their meal of choice - dead eagle on a stick. There will be dead eagles everywhere. Dead eagles up the river, where they flow among the dull brown waters of Boston's Harbor; dead eagles down the river, where they roll defiled among the tiers of shipping boats and the waterside pollutions of a great and dirty city. Dead Eagles in Fauneil Hall, dead Eagles near the Cape, and Dead Eagles near Fenway Park and its' looming and ever present wall. There will be dead Eagles being lapped by the Atlantic ocean now and then; dead eagles lying out on the shipping yards and hovering in the rigging of great ships; dead eagles drooping on the rails of barges and small boats. Dead eagles in the eyes and throats of everything, some wheezing their last breadth. There will be dead Eagles in the stem and pipes of those smoking cigarettes near Plymouth Rock. And even now, chance people on the bridges peep out, looking into the sky, all round them, as dead eagles fall too the ground, like the dead riggings of airless balloons hanging in the misty clouds. This day has a haggard and unwilling look. The raw afternoon of Super Bowl Sunday will set in eventually, and the dead eagles at their densest, hitting the muddy streets below, will pile up like the garbage of this ever growing city. They will buldge into the horizon like rolling hills. Never can there come more dead eagles than this. All now gone. Not an eagle left. Never can there come a pile of dead eagles as deep as this, but hold this day true, in the sights of heaven and earth, as the one where Tom Brady's lies burned like wildfire, singeing the city streets, and burning like wildfire until reaching the water's edge, where not one eagle, bald or not, drinks and survives the day. Not today. This is the day the eagles died.

I actually think the Eagles might surprise everyone (as they've done in the past 2 rounds of the playoffs) and pull it off. Everyone said the Jags had no chance of beating the Patriots either, and they got about as close as you can without actually winning. I think it'll be close, and could end up with the Patriots falling short on their final drive.

Gotta be hard for the locals. Your team is one win away from a Super Bowl at home...only to get crushed.

Foles has had two very good games, both against playoff teams, both that improved on each other. He managed the game well, against the Falcons, and he was damn good against what many believe to be one of the best defenses in the league.

Not only that, Philly played really well against Keenum, whose confidence could not have been higher, going into the game.

Why won't the Eagles be even more hyped for the superbowl? The big game isn't happening tomorrow; Eagles will have two weeks to come down off an emotional high and get themselves ready for the Pats. Foles will have two more weeks to gel with the team. Pederson will have two more weeks to gameplan.

What I want to see is how Foles will react, the first time he makes a bad decision, maybe turning the ball over. If Foles is shook for the rest of the game, there's no way the Eagles win.

But to say that the Eagles have zero chance, is just wrong.

I spent the better part of the week reading firsthand accounts of Vikings fans who attended the NFC championship game in Philly.

I cannot in good conscience hope that those people are ever given anything nice.

    Go Patriots.

Go Eagles. Pats never blow out anyone or cover in SB (minus Rams game). Will be a very close game and hopefully the Eagles pull off the W.

The Eagles have a chance. The Patriots are not as talented as prior years with bad season ending injuries they have had to overcome. Not to mention Philadelphia has a g rly good defense and a diverse offense.

Not saying there aren't bad fans in Philly (as there are bad fans everywhere, for every team), but people usually only spend time speaking out about the bad. Good things usually go unmentioned, because people don't feel strongly enough to put pen to paper, about it.

And I don't think you can, in good conscience, talk about Philly fans and not also talk about how bad Pats fans can be.

Yeah, no. There is no comparison. These people are godless crap demons from the 9th circle of hell. Pats fans are terrible. Philly fans are straight from satan's bunghole.

No, Philadelphia fans are the worst in sports. Boston and New York fans are bad but Philadelphia fans are criminal. Not surprising considering how awful a lot of people are that live there.
