Probably not a fair comparison skill-wise now. Sounds like his ceiling is more Aaron Gray or Ghoerghe Muresan but, who knows, the kid is very young, and huge. NY Times talks about him as 7'4'' 330 with 7'11'' wingspan. Another source lists him as 7'5'' 338 with 8'2'' wingspan. Apparently his future college coaches at Xavier spoke with Yao's trainer.

So you agree, he's like a young Yao Ming.

He makes Yao look like Russel Westbrook.

This guy has zero chance of becoming anything.

doesn't seem to have much potential, but he is young and has time to improve

Even if he had skill, passion, and brains, his size and weight would doom him to a shortened career.

I think he would need years of big man coaching and to drop about 30lbs in this league.

He does seem to have impressive quickness (hindered by his weight) and a soft touch (with poor form).

If he's a teenager, hasn't played much before, and is genuinely interested in making it in the NBA, then he has a chance.

Yao and Shaq are once in a generation athletes. Big guys that are supposed to be that big without pituitary abnormalities.

so, any reference to Yao Ming is OK in the GARM, even though it's a Xavier player,...no NBA no nothing...just tall... yet Cuttino Mobley trying to get back to the NBA is not GARM worthy.

this is so wrong forum, it almost makes me made.

He has a 7'3'' brother named Tanveer in the grade below him...

There is no chance of him being as good as Yao Ming.

In Captain Obvious tone, there's some bias against the Steve/Cuttino era. Odd considering this site STARTED with those guys.

But its more we simply approach GARM as "CURRENT Rockets Events + Title Years", and former Rockets as "NBA Dish Archive".

Or it goes in the Dish so people like user 'what' worms out of posting "Robinson OWNED Hakeem" in the GARM where it belongs to avoid being SLAIN.
