Good thing cp3 took his money when offered. This is why If I was player over 30 I would not be turning down guaranteed money.
We would probably have to give up picks to get rid of CP3. Maybe that's why they have decided to reconcile and just try to win with him
Of course they don't. While giving up nothing, they'd still have to pay him $124M the next 3 years. What the hell are they supposed to with that?
He probably doesn't want to play for trash teams anyway so, no worries lottery bound teams, keep enjoy drafting some busts and suck for the next years.
Bruh. That contract just kills every glimpse of hope. Damn Number Muncher messed this one up, being thirsty and ish..The league is passing us by. I wouldn’t be shocked if Butler ends up in Brooklyn. Irving speculation with that organization worries me.
of course teams aren’t taking that albatross as a salary dump unless the Rockets are giving heavy compensation...compensation they really don’t have CP0’s contract is top 5 worst in the league. If he was 30 and still clearly a top 10 player then cool, but the dude we got right now? Morey’s calling and teams are like
you trade this player for another team's trade exception, or a heavily protected (1-59 for example) draft pick.
The logic seems pretty clear. When we made the trade we were hoping that we would get probably 2-3, MAYBE 4(if extremely lucky) chances similar to 2017/2018 where it appeared we were fully equipped to win it all and that we would be able to cash in on at least 1 of them. I liked the gamble then. Not nearly as optimistic after how year 2 went, but I still think we get 1 maybe 2 more real shots at this with him here.
lol shocking This is why being cheap this year hurt. With each year gone by, CP will decline even more, and you will have to improve the team in other ways even further to compensate for his decline. We had a legitimate shot this year had we made some solid additions.
