I had a dream last night that the entire Spurs and Mavs organization bought tickets and showed up to the game in Texas or Houston gear to support the City and state.

The crowd won't let this team get down on themselves. The Warriors are going to be pressing after every missed 3.

This is an awesome gesture for Tilman to do and the Rockets as an organization. 500 seats to the biggest game of the year is not going to come at a small cost but its totally worth it and is a small cost as well considering what it would mean for these seniors. It also gives the community a chance to rally around one another.

From a purely basketball standpoint its great because you know the Rockets especially CP3 is going to feed off of that emotional energy to play that much harder.

    hahaha

It was more of an all the Texas teams coming out to support the city and state. Putting their own franchises loyalties aside to help bring a city and state together to heal. It was a good dream, believe me -- yes, frightening at first, but then it leaves you with a single tear and a soft "awwww" exhale. :D

great gesture by the rockets. the good deeds will all come back to them.

and this quote from the tillman article was quite revealing:

Fertitta said he was confident the NBA would approve the plans once finalized.

"I haven't seen them fight us on anything," Fertitta said. "They just don't want us to criticize the refs. If we don't do that we're all in good shape. We're going to make it a special night."

So, seriously, where did he find these seats? Does he pull back tickets from season ticket holders by offering them compensation? Did he make an emotional plea for people to give up their tickets? I don't see how these seats were just available. Wasn't it said the game was already sold out?

It's great he is doing this for the kids at Santa Fe. I just hope that the families of those who were lost are not left behind. Shouldn't they be at the game as well or given the chance to attend? I know they are hurting but they need to feel that love and support as well. I hope he is offering them up suites or something.

He probably just went on flashseats and bought a section for the seniors.

its very possible hes bringing them to the game and grouping them in a bunch of suites or similiar fashion

its not likely he just pulled 500 actual seat tickets together.

JJ makes up for McNair’s shittiness in spades.

Recently, i've been getting the feeling that the games aren't truly sold out, but rather a bunch put on Flash Seats and other outlets so that they can sell tickets for more than "face value". Aside from large corporation folks not showing up, what other reasons could it be that the large majority of the people having lower bowl seats not show up to the games?

They could have just pulled those tickets and used those to give to victims. Especially since they got rid of the option to bid on tickets.

I could be totally wrong here tho.
