CP3 looks to be in EXCELLENT shape. Looks like he slimmed down a bit compared to last year. Guys retain that great dexterity and skillfulness at slimmer builds. Nash, Reggie, Stockton, etc. He'll probably be better this year all things considered.
I'm sure he knows his injury is what was between us and a championship. Hopefully he's taken all precautions this preseason to make sure he stays healthy.
I just wanted to say how lucky we are to have Chris Paul on the Rockets and to watch him play. He is one of the top 3 point guards of all time.
Yup, Nash was still a max player and a monster at ages 33-34-35-36. Stockton was a beast until he was 40 basically. I expect CP3 to make his mark on our franchise more than any PG to ever lace them up for our Rox.
According to Kelly Iko of The Athletic, the Rockets "don’t want to overextend" Chris Paul this season. CP3 turned 33 back in May and signed a four-year, $160 million deal over the offseason. He played in 58 and 61 games over the past two seasons due to injury, and with the Rockets adding Brandon Knight, they could look to reduce Paul's workload with some maintenance days mixed in to keep him healthy for the postseason. - The Athletic
This pretty much goes with what @Codman was saying #ReduceTheDrop. So adding a capable player in the backcourt, Knight in this case, was important.
Ugh. CP3's an MVP impact kind of guy and Knight just sucks. Worth it if he can stay healthy but absolutely not a guarantee.
I think people are going to be utterly surprised with Knight given he’s healthy. This is a guy who was averaging 17 ppg multiple seasons in a row. He’s not an all star or phenomenal type of guy but he’s great off the bench player for us He should succeed on this team, he’s a great three point shooter. Playing rockets system he will do fine.
Knight is a Jeff Teague bad yet statistically solid/good PG. Bounces around and ever new team realizes what he is and wants him gone.
Except Knight isn't in a position to be a starter. Huge difference. he's not being relied upon to be that kind of player As a backup pg, he's absolutely solid and one of the better ones currently in the league. Especially if he can work his way back to good standing health
Great news, a part of me was scared MDA would Paul him into the ground. Nash was playing around 34 mpg at 33. I'm hoping we go Pops style and hold Pauls minutes around 28 a game for the reg season, as well as rest him a more than generous amount of games. Keeping CP3/Harden healthy needs to be our #1 priorities. Hopefully, we also aim for Harden to get his first season under 35 mpg minutes since his OKC days. We have the depth to do so with Gordon/Knight.
