Looks like 2016 wasn't quite done.... :( I really enjoyed watching Father Mulcahy go from a 'background' character to one of the main players in MASH.

    PASADENA, Calif. (KABC) --
William Christopher, the actor best known for his role as Father John Mulcahy on the hit TV show "M*A*S*H," died on Saturday, his family confirmed to Eyewitness News.

His son, John Christopher, said the actor died from non-lung small cell carcinoma at his home in Pasadena.

    He was 84.

The actor played the role of Father John Mulcahy on "M*A*S*H" from 1972 to 1983 and in the follow-up series "After M*A*S*H*" from 1983 to 1985.

He also had parts in the movies "The Fortune Cookie," "With Six You Get Eggroll," and the TV show "Gomer Pyle, U.S.M.C."

William Christopher leaves behind his wife Barbara and his sons John and Ned.

I vaguely recall this guy's face from MASH. I wasn't a huge MASH fan, though. I did watch some of it at various times. I didn't even realize it was set in the Korean War. I always thought it was Vietnam. LOL.

Judging by the number of replies to this thread, I'm guessing MASH is a bit too old school for most posters.

I was a huge MASH fan. Still watch it on occasion and it's still a great great show. Father Mulcahey was a huge part of it.

    Rest in peace, Mr. Christopher...

MASH was such a great show - easily one of the top shows of all time. It's one of those few shows thats still funny 40yrs later.
