Using that metric, LA is by far the worst. Relatively, folks don't care about sports over there compared to NY, BOS, etc...

Until they miss out on a ring this season. There's no chance they could beat GSW or HOU in a 7 game series at this point, even with the new players. He's happy now because they are winning. The exact same thing Wade said about their success early on... When you're winning all is good. Let see what happens when they have that 3-4 game losing streak and Lebron starts to get pissed again.

Lebron is his own media market.

I’m talking ratings and ad revenue. Houston has always struggled in non football sports on that side

Unless they revert to playing the kind of ball they were playing prior to the trades where they got blown out by the likes of the Magic, they ain't losing 3-4 in a row the rest of the season. Their remaining schedule isn't that bad.

I think the trades merely helped him get through the season without getting embarrassed. If he can go to the situation he wants I think he is absolutely leaving. The Cavs are better but the media has hyped the hell out of the trades. They may not get out of the East and he is not winning a championship.

I don't see how that became an issue when Derrick Rose was initially signed by the Cavs. Not too long ago he was the face of Adidas.

God people come up with the dumbest sh** ass excuses for anything.

Yes, but to use that as a reason as to why a player would or would not come here is asinine. Miami isn't some media haven. They can barely keep 3 major sports teams in that city. Gottlieb is a ****ing joke, but that's probably more on the producers feeding him lines than anything else.

Cleveland isn't that great of a media market. Look what happened before LeBron got there and then after he left.

We have much more of a market presence than some of the other middle/lower market teams. Sh** we just "signed" CP3 this offseason, that's a huge coup for any market team to obtain.

One thought that occurred to me recently: If by chance we win it all THIS year, then what?

Go for LeBron anyway in an attempt to ensure we win it all again (risking on-court chemistry in the process)?

    -or-

Shoot for bringing in a borderline all-star at PF instead?

Of course you still go for Lebron. He's top 5 of all time. You always go for that player if you have an opportunity. If that doesn't pan out, Rockets should go all out for Boogie. He'd fit in remarkably well.

I hope we win the chip and Lebron joins us. That would make everyone hate us even more!! How glorious would that be?
Can you imagine all those stupid analysts criticizing him and us even more? While we just pound the whole league into submission. Please God make this happen.PLEASEEE

The only think Doug Gottlieb knows about is stealing credit cards. Take what he says with a grain of salt

    DESTINATION LEBRON
LeBron James is set to be a free agent, and his decision on where to play next season could shake up the NBA once again. So where will the King find his throne? We look at the most likely options.

    ROCKETS

    Why LeBron would pick Houston

First, he'd be united with Banana Boat buddy Chris Paul -- and could bring Dwyane Wade along with him on a minimum salary deal should Wade decide to leave Miami again. CP3, 2017-18 MVP front-runner James Harden and James would form a trio as formidable as any in the NBA. Though a move to Houston would force James to confront the Warriors earlier in the postseason, having CP3 and Harden as teammates would give him more firepower against Golden State than he's had in any of their previous Finals matchups. Plus, there's no state income tax in Texas, which means LeBron's max salary would be worth a little more there.

How the Rockets could make it work

Rockets GM Daryl Morey has some experience with this after having brought Paul on board last summer. If James made it clear to Dan Gilbert that he was leaving Cleveland, he could opt in to the final year of his deal, allowing the Cavs to trade him to Houston (likely for a package centered around Ryan Anderson, Eric Gordon and future draft assets). This would allow the Rockets to bring LeBron on board without gutting their core to open up the cap space to sign him outright. But from Cleveland's perspective, ownership is willing to pay $150 million in luxury taxes for a team led by James but not for a package of Gordon and Anderson.
