Why and how is it so popular ? Is it due to the fact that it's so cheesy with a guy in a trench coat dancing, guys jumping off fences, guys doing splits in the air, etc.? Sure I've made my own Rick Rolling sites (here) but I don't get it really.
Whats up with this whole all your base are belong to us stuff, I mean Ive seen the video and even made my own but I dont get it really
Yeah, and what's up with "pwned"? Owned? Did I own you figuratively now? WTH did the "p" come from? Counterstrike? What is it? Also Leroy Jenkins. Please explain. Oh, and "F*** it. We'll do it live!"?
What is this thing you call final battle of lakemen fighting the ancient celts? I've made my own site about it but I don't really understand it. http://www.nba.com/finals2008/index.html
Vince McMahon got Rick Roll'd. <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PdMj10s6nYw&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PdMj10s6nYw&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>
Rick: From his name Rick Astley, of course. Roll: During the video, while he is rocking side to side, he does that odd wiggle/changing of directions very quickly. That was interpretted as a roll. Sometimes he does the roll sign with his arms at the same time. If you don't understand what I'm talking about, look at the video a few times. You'll know it when you see it. At least that's where I believe it came from. Never got a definitive answer, but what I thought made complete sense.
I can't tell if you're serious about these questions but if so...Counterstrike is an FPS game branching off of the Half Life series. Leroy Jenkins: <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/LkCNJRfSZBU&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/LkCNJRfSZBU&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> "We'll do it live!": <object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/2tJjNVVwRCY&hl=en"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/2tJjNVVwRCY&hl=en" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="425" height="344"></embed></object> "Rick" because his name is Rick Astley. "Rolling" because there used to be something called "duck rolling," sending you to a picture of a photoshopped duck with wheels on it. Basically served the same purpose of the rick roll.
Lol, sorry. I knew the answers to all of the questions I posted. But, I bet there are people who didn't know and didn't ask. So, you've helped someone at the very least. Also, I liked my answer to rick rolling better. Even though you are right...
Alliteration is always extremely popular. People just like the way it sounds. You can probably think of a million examples. From dictionary.com- the commencement of two or more words of a word group with the same letter, as in apt alliteration's artful aid.
