Elizabeth Warren has already announced her candidacy and the clown car should now fill rapidly as the candidates with less name recognition rush to pile in.

So, who will pile into the Democrat's presidential clown car? Here are a few names that I predict. Whoever else you think is going to run, please do let us know.

    Bernie Sanders
    Hillary Clinton
    Joe Biden
    Elizabeth Warren
    Terry McCauliffe
    Rahm Emmanuel
    Michael Bloomberg
    Eric Holder
    Kamala Harris
    Corey Booker
    Elizabeth Warren
    Kristen Gillibrand
    + maybe a dozen more

And who will be the final four? Any guesses? And why do you think that?

I think that the final three will be Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders and Joe Biden. Kamala Harris from the "Identity Politics" and "Political correctness" wing of the party. Bernie Sanders from the hardcore socialist wing of the party. And Joe Biden from the establishment elite wing of the party. As far as a fourth, I am leaving open a spot for a surprise.

    Why don't people like Warren?

To me she is a more nuanced Bernie Sanders. She understands banking regulation, she provides explicit means to mitigate corporate lobbying, she has actually done stuff as a Senator.

She's a more nuanced Bernie Sanders. She has zero corruption allegations. The only controversy with her is she claims some native American heritage. Trump spamming that as the only attack on her for a year is just going to get redundant and pathetic.

I agree. I suspect some of these candidates are not really running, they are just making the most out of the national platform, which they will use for fundraising and promoting their pet ideas, and then will bow out the first week of the primaries, if not before. This is an opportunistic move by Warren that is not a serious campaign effort.

What is your biggest issue with Warren? And what exactly are you pointing at to suggest it isn't a serious campaign effort?

Her effort to claim credentials as a minority with only 1/1,024 claim is dangerous to the left's entire identity politics agenda. If she gets to claim to be part of one of the Democrat left's predjudicially favored minority identity politics group, then literally everybody will be able to. This would destroy the foundation for that more thoroughly than an atomic bomb. As a result, the "Identity politics" and "Political correctness" obsessed left will not allow this to stand.

Got it... If that's it, If that is all the "corruption" you can find in her entire political career than Donnie spamming this one issue will be an epic disaster .

Believing her parents about something in regards to ethnicity and not even using it to advance her career is the only thing you have on her? No pay to play? No foundation? No emails? No pro Iraq war?

Nothing but saying she might have native American blood... really? You do understand that her first "elite" position held as a UPenn as a Law professor at one of the best law schools in the nation, she applied and only checked "Caucasian/white". https://www.bostonglobe.com/news/na...complicated/wUZZcrKKEOUv5Spnb7IO0K/story.html

I care about her nuanced proposals in terms of banking regulation, consumer financial protection, mitigating corporate lobbying etc .Those matter to me more. That is her shtick. Not identity politics. You only finding this one avenue is identity politics.

Well, as I am sure you realize, I am not going to vote for anyone in the Democrat clown car this time. So I am just trying to offer an objective assessment of why she is not a serious candidate among Democrat voters.

First, her effort to claim minority status as a native American was dishonest, it was openly manipulative in an extremely cynical way - even for a leftist Democrat - and it was directly damaging to the fundamental assumptions underlying the Democrat left's "Identity politics" and "Political correctness" agenda. All of this is disqualifying I do believe - among most Democrats.

Second, her northeast acadamia left agenda is not going to appeal beyond socialist left leaning Bernie Sanders crowd - who he will also be competing hard for - and also the MSNBC howlers and the university neo-Marxist types. Even if we overlooked the first reason that I discussed in the previous paragraph, this reason alone would be enough to undermine her effort to be a serious first tier candidate.

Also, she is white and many tens of millions of Democrat voters are extremely racist. There may be room for a couple of white people in the Democrat clown car, but at some point the racist elements are going to start to disqualify candidates based on their skin color. This is going to be a problem for a number of these candidates, including very likely Elizabeth Warren.

I watched MSNBC for a few minutes and the commentators said their will be two fractions that will face off for the bid. The black candidates and a white nominee like Biden. I would think Tulsi should be in the conversation as well.

I haven't studied her but isn't she pretty far left in comparison to the others?

    1. She has never cared to bring up her heritgt claims in terms of garnering "political sympathy". It was only brought up because the GOP candidate for Mass Senator in her first campaign run as senator brought it up as a political hit piece and she understandingly defended herself. She never used it to gain votes.

    2. She got into her elite position as a UPen law professor only claiming to be white. She merely just believes her parents. There literally is nothing more to it.

And I'm sorry, someone shouldn't be disqualified for president because they taught at the best law schools. That type of thinking gets us utter morons like Trump.

Far left in terms of what? Banking regulation? Actually having nuanced tangible policy proposals to mitigate corporate lobbying and bribing? Actually trying to defend the common citizen with the consumer financial protection bureau.

One other candidate. It is not clear she will run. But she is the one person that I think would have a good chance to beat Donald Trump.

    Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN)

It is her personality that could make her competitive, not her politics. It is not clear to me that she has the fire in the belly that is required to do this. But she is currently the only person on the Democrat side that gives me any particular sense of trepidation.

Not a single poster here thinks your position on Democrat candidates comes from any sincerity. Dude, no point in someone as ideologically biased as you should be starting out of a group of candidates you will hate regardless who is the better choice.

Don't be an *******. You and many others here have demonstrated your bias as well and were completely unrestrained and almost never-ending in your advice and analysis about the Republican field and every individual candidate in 2016. As I am sure that you still recall.

Seriously. Get real. Nobody is going to be shouted down by you here. Nor should they be.

Nope. Your thread title. Read it .

You didn't come here for a sincere debate.

The Republican field chose a casino money laundering mlm schemer with zero individual merit who got his core base support from 3 years of claiming the former President is Kenyian born as their candidate out of a field of 17. When the DNC does something that absurd, come back.
