Thank you! I've been fooling around on the trade machine a little bit during my commute and I'm coming to the conclusion that any realistic trade for Melo must be a four teamer.

1st one makes sense. The other two are a no for the Knicks (Kanter, Asik have too much negative value)

    Houston out: ryan/NGs(whatever combo)/mem2nd/hou2nd
    Houston in: melo

    Brooklyn out: Lin/dinwiddie(NG)/acy(NG until 16th)
    Brooklyn in: ryno/2nd

    New York out: melo
    New York in: Lin/hou2nd

Brooklyn's outlook: they get a good loxkerroom guy and upgraded starting stretch 4 that is perfect for their offense as they run a very similar offense as us. Allows them to be semi competitive to ruin the '18 pick for Boston while opening up a car starting spot for D'angelo. Get a semi early 2nd.

New York outlook: they shed themselves of the situation. Get back media darling Lin and a veteran pg for ntlikina to learn from. Shed 14m this year alone after waiving the NGs while not getting stuck with a bad contract. They also get a 2nd.

    Houston outlook: gets melo

Still won't lose baze for nothing. Knicks want to tank for Doncic as well. Knicks love international guys

The Rockets should try to get Cousins at the February 18 deadline.

Capela, Zhou and E.Gordon for Cousins. Offer the Pelicans a lottery protected 2020 pick if it's necessary, but only if the Rockets automatically get Cousins' rights.

I think we should try and get PG13 at the deadline. It OKC sucks we could get him for Gordon and fillers.

Two trades involving Memphis as a facilitator. I think a team like them (possible tanking contender with a lot of big contracts) or the Nets, who need talent desperately, are the two most likely to help us land Melo:

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y6vaen65

    http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=y8n7gma9

In this trade, the Grizzlies get a young point guard and shave off a lot of money from the books. This also works if either New York team decides it wants Parsons in lieu of Gasol or Conley. This trade also works if you cut out Brooklyn entirely, although the Grizzlies would have to be on a fire sale or the Knicks would have to want Parsons (as Memphis would only receive Ryan Anderson in return). Obviously, Memphis and New York would also receive draft picks from us.

This trade to me seems the best for 4 teams. Pistons would get picks from Knicks, Rockets. Pistons get a future 1st from Rox.

Just think of how Favors could be the next big thing in the apple with maybe exam turning out to be ok. Exam is not gonna get any time in utah, might as well now get a 1st from knicks for him. This to me is about as fair for all teams as you can get. I really like what the rockets get back to. Cause Nene is getting old, and we need another backup PG.

Basicly Pistons are trading Harris for 2 first , Joe Johsnon, and ariza.. Harris now entering his prime at 25, could be what utah needs with no more hayward, plus being able to spread the floor with Anderson. Jazz might would get pick too here.for taking anderson contract.

Rather sign and trade for Nerlens Noel. He is already a MDA favorite and knows the system, and more importantly his ROLE in the system. Run floor, protect rim, switch D, steals, rebound like a demon, roll hard to basket on PnR and go balls to the wall all out hustle on every possession at either end of court.

And he should cost much less than a ball dominant below the rim playing 5 like Boogie. Cousins is not answer to D in the middle, especially with Melo, or even Anderson, on the team.

He's just an injury prone older and more expensive version of Capela. No thanks

LOL. Injury prone, perhaps but Capela is not the same player as Noel.

Yeah but unless Westbrook gets injured they won't suck...they'll make the playoffs easily.

True, but Boggie is younger than Carmelo, and helps us create mismatches. Noel isn't a big enough difference maker IMO. DM would need to acquire another shot blocker in the future, if Boggie signs up long term with Houston.

But he doesn't run, can't switch on D in addition to being a weak rim protector. He is not a complementary piece for MDA and Harden/Paul. He is too ball dominant on O and lackadaisical on D. Moreso, seeing Boogie not engaged on D because he's crying for a call or throwing a tantrum on/off court would absolutely sicken me.

It's not about age, its more about fit. Boogie does not fit.

That thunder trade makes sence man. I can see them doing it... That could be the 3rd team. That trade makes perfect since. Kanter almost same money, and thunder would benefit alot with anderson spacing. now that they have Paul. Kanter would work out better in ny, along side Kristaps, feed off him more..
