According to Clutch Fans, a popular Houston sports forum, the station fired Clanton and suspended Innes for a week. Other than confirming that Clanton was no longer with the station, Sports Talk 790 hasn’t been clear why it disciplined either host.

As soon as John and Lance reunited I deleted the i ♥ radio app. The only person I miss is Matt Thomas.

For me it's John and Lance for about an hour getting ready for work and on my way in, and the Blitz on the way home. 94.5 is now the only local station I listen to in Houston for sports. 790 just became kind of trashy and I won't even bother with 610 as I'm not a Texans fan whatsoever.

 

Guys can we start a boycott and twitter hashtag protest? The longer I’ve thought about this the angrier I got.

Adam Clanton is one of the best Houston sports personalities and always reps Houston. He has great takes and is hilarious.

Josh Innes is a professional troll. I don’t know anyone that likes him and most I know can’t stand him. The dude doesn’t even like Houston sports teams. He’s always giving backhanded or forced compliments.

This is just a joke.

I don't listen to Clanton but it is weird he keeps getting fired.

 

Or maybe if the pattern had followed him this long, he deserves it?

 

When did he get fired before this? I thought that was Innes.

 

Fired from channel 2, fired from 1560, and now fired from 790.

Well in fairness to him, and again I'm not a fan, he's a youngster in radio in an era where guys get fired a lot.

The medium isn't what it used to be. These stations get desperate and a LOT of these guys get fired multiple times. Wex and Matt Jackson were AWESOME and seemed like good dudes and they got fired multiple times. Seems like the only guy in radio who is 100% safe is Rich Lord.

Sorry, I meant as an AM radio talk host. Vandervoice isn't really a regular AM guy anymore is he?

 

For me that started when they hired Innes and won't end at least until he's gone.

 

TBH I wouldn't know. I don't listen to Texans Propaganda Radio 610
