Simple poll whether you have kids or not. Do you consider our current president a positive role model? Would you advise your children to emulate our president?
Well, when my mom used the ole "You'll poke your eye out" decree I sure could have used his "Fake News" comeback.
No, I have said many times that I think Donald Trump the human being is a despicable person. I do not and have never liked the man personally. Unfortunately there was not a person with a chance to actually win the election in 2016 who was not a despicable person so I voted for what I hoped would be the lesser of two evils. To my surprise, Donald Trump the President has actually been a very good President if you concentrate on what he does instead of what he says or tweets. I will never consider such a man a role model but I do consider him to so far be a very good President who should easily win reelection in 2020.
What he says and tweets has an effect on the country. I don’t think it makes sense to put that aside, as you are doing. Or do you think communication and leadership don’t matter for a President?
Hard to explain to our kids why the President was raw dogging a p*rn star while his wife was physically recovering from giving birth to his autistic son weeks earlier. On a more positive note, most kids understand the concept of building a wall to keep intruders out. Plus if Trump really does try to deport anchor babies, that means less of a wait to use the monkey bars at the playground and class sizes will shrink.
Seems like a lot of Trump supporters do this. "If you put aside this, this, this and this, he's actually been a great President." I mean, of course he's a good President if you put aside everything that makes him a bad President. Buy why would you do that?
