Probably could have commented in the other thread. But, like with Charles Barkley, it’s just a fact of the matter that he is a role model, like it or not. I don’t think humans are capable of ignoring the most powerful man they know of when they think about their own place in society. And it’s not just kids, he's an archetype for adults to contend with as well.

Not too many companies make it to the top with the CEO being an overt douche.

Yeah Trump is a scumbag, but people need to quit treating the presidency as a form of American royalty. There have been more than a few presidents who shouldn't be "role models" for kids that were good presidents. Being a bad moral role model doesn't mean you can't accomplish things.

Ideally, yes. On the other hand it less important if the president is a role model than what policies he supports. For example if the president is a sort of lousy boss who yells needlessly at his employees, this is not that important, but it is not being a good role model. Really not that important if he gets a blow job in his office from an employee, not his wife. (Assume a 35 year old with full consent).

But then we have Trump. A guy who tells lies that even probably a smart ten year old can see. (Assuming their parents don't role model absurdity by idolizing the guy and believing or ignoring his lies. A guy who is racist toward folks who are the classmates of the ten year old. If they follow the news they can see world leaders laughing at the clown etc. etc.
