    These seem low for everyone.

That's crazy to see Utah third in the West already.

    I agree with you.

They have some nice complementary pieces but nothing more.

The sports talking heads have waited for a Utah breakout for awhile now but the Jazz are like that Invest 99L out in the Atlantic. Could either be dangerous or disintegrate.

As for the rest of the teams not even hitting 50 wins? What, does each team play Golden State 20 times each?

5th in the west is extremely optimistic, much higher than I thought they'd rank us.

If the Mavs get a high lottery pick, I'm going to puke.

I don't think the order is crazy, but I can say with some pretty good confidence that the 3 seed in the West will have much more than 47 wins

The projections are assuming that the Jazz through Blazers are all roughly equal to one another, therefore all of them will split their series against each other, preventing any of them from getting to 50 wins. Virtually the same for the East in saying that most teams in the NBA are above average but not great (which is true as the smart money says we are headed for GS-CLE III).

Lol at Jazz being overrated. Screw Utah. They're not winning more than 40 games this season.

Even if they do, who else on their roster is going to be useful in 2-3 years when that pick develops?

    3 Things on these projections.

    1) The gap between 4 & 5 in the East is interesting.

    2) Rockets actually getting some respect on those numbers. Fans of OKC, Memphis and Portland are probably unhappy with those numbers. Even the Wolves. But the media will be bending over backwards to overrate Westbrook & OKC to start the season.

    3) Utah has a solid team and they will be rising. But a jump to #3 is a bit high. The numbers highlight the point differential and that is important. Because when it is a close game, who are making the big shots? We'll see.

    Love this!

Westbrook and Lillard get all of this love for being plucky, one-man wrecking crews who soldier on despite being abandoned by Durant and Aldridge. But Harden? Dwight checks out and then straight up leaves, but Harden is the ball hog who everyone seems to hate. Yet the numbers say that Harden will take his team farther despite the narrative.

Even the author of the article can't use the number to escape his own bias. Says Pelton, the Rockets will "still struggle to reach 45 wins" while the lower rated Thunder will be "in the mix for home-court advantage".

You pretty much summed up the media narrative which will be in full force a month from now as training camps start up.

Seems fair given the question marks surrounding the season.

They wouldn't know what to do with it anyway.

Lol at the Jazz. So overrated. Rockets numbers are about what I thought.
