    This is was so predictable.

The Pats need receivers, and really could use a high end talent.

BB has been here before with talented players with personal problems.

The Pats really lack high level, impact players.

Brady to Gronk anf Gordon could be REALLY nasty.

The only thing that will keep Gordon from 1000 yards this season is Josh Gordon.

Why not, he had 1650 yards in 14 games while high as hell at 22 years old....... he hasn't played a sober/complete season since his second year of HS football.

Brady, McDaniels and Belichick are going to set him up to be the best WR in Patriots' history. All the potential and tools are there; it's all up to Gordon whether he wants to be, or not.

I actually think Gordon to the Pats may be the worst possible place for him... those guys aren't "player friendly"... you have to have extreme self discipline, motivation, and skin thicker than anything to thrive in that sort of boot camp environment.

Most teams won't take a chance on him because of his issues... but, there are few franchises that can tolerate that sort of emotional inconsistency and not miss a beat, so it is a no-lose situation for the Patriots.

I just don't see why anybody would expect him to still be good at this point for a full season.... regardless of who's throwing him the ball.

NE could potentially go from one of the worst WR groupings in the league to one of the best. Hogan & Gordon on the outside. Edelman & Gronk inside. Plenty of potential for volatility, but high ceiling.

It is sink or swim for him, it depends on what he wants...... remember similar things about Moss too.

Normally I would say that Gordon has missed too much time...... but he missed huge amounts of time in HS, multiple colleges and with the Browns..... and out of shape, with Campbell/Weeden as his QB...... he dropped almost 1,700 yards at 22 years old, in only 14 games, and that was with teams focusing on him.

Plus the last two seasons he has played, he has gotten around 300 yards in 5 games.... with Brady, and in better shape, it is very likely he can easily get 1000 yards. He still gets separation fine.

It would be unprecedented that an NFL player in this day/age misses this much time, regardless of what for, and comes back to an all-pro level.

When you combine that his issues are largely motivation/mental/behavioral (which don't necessarily "heal")... again, I'd be very surprised since I've never seen it.

I know...... but I had never seen a player out of shape, abusing drugs and having missed so much time do what Gordon did with that Browns team when he went off for almost 1,700 yards in 14 games. They actually had to take him out on plays because he was winded from being out of shape and that was with bad QB play.

So it isn't a guarantee by any means, but I cannot write him off based on his past.

Brady has one bad game and daddy Belichick buys him a Ferrari.

Meanwhile, O'Brien can't even buy a timeout to save his life.

Agree, but the Patriots might be just the right spot for him. He'll either get with the program...or be gone.

The Cowboys had a strong need, and a positive history with players like this, but passed. I can see why...but will they regret that??

Might be exactly what he needs. Hue Jackson is a hold your hand, participation trophy kind of coach. Easy to disrespect him and the Browns in general.

Pats might teach him a little more discipline which it seems like he sorely needs.

He’s 27 years old. He’s been around the league long enough to know what he should and should not be doing.

The no nonsense approach works for guys who are mentally tough.... but even they have a breaking point.

And my question is not necessarily his mental state... but whether or not his talent is still enough to compensate. Again, the patriots won’t be phased if he flames out... unlike other less stable teams like the browns, hence why they had to get rid of him.

Josh Gordon was reportedly tardy at least twice this past week leading up to Monday night's game in Buffalo.

There was slim chance that a human as fragile as Gordon was going to survive the day-in/day-out relentlessness of being around Belichick and Brady.

That and... he's not as good as he once was.
