my coworker (Spurs fan) told me we should have traded Bev for Iman Shumpert because Bev is overrated and has never made an All Star team. Never have I wanted to slap somebody so bad.
LeBron is 7" taller and outweighs Beverley by 60+ lbs, yet he refused to back Patrick down last night. I don't recall LeBron attempting to take Bev off the dribble either.
credit to both Bev and the team defense overall there, especially in the 4th quarter when anyone was iso'd with Lebron. Rockets were shading diff guys towards him with help. Cavs didn't have guys step up to make us pay.
Minus 15 points of credibility for posting a youtube video as evidence of how well someone plays defense. This is how people became convinced that Kobe Bryant was not, in fact, a terrible defender.
There is a reason why they wanted Bev on the Cavs bad.You can bet LBJ was the driving force behind their offer since he is their GM. Beverley has developed himself into a huge game changer. He can change games in a variety of ways. Clippers game he was getting offensive rebounds and hitting huge 3's along the way. Last night he was getting big offensive rebounds and hit the cut throat three that put us 6 ahead and sealed the game. He can win a game on defense with crucial stops, win a game with huge offensive rebounds or hit the clutch three point shot with ease. His shooting in particular has become borderline elite now. He has improved leaps and bounds since when we got him from Russia or wherever he was playing.
That would be great. All the numbers I've seen confirm that Paul is a great defender (including some in this very thread), but if you have current numbers that paint a different picture, I'm all ears. For cereal.
Hah, ok, c'mon guys. I love Bev, too, but let's not be ridiculous here. Lebron is NOT afraid of Pat on the block. And actually, if there's just one weakness in Pat's D, I believe it's his post defense. Granted, that's not a huge issue for a PG, but most times he gets stuck on someone bigger (even a PG) in the post, he seems to struggle. Although I think he's a pretty good help defender and double-teamer in those cases. Luckily, though, we have Harden to cover those guards or SFs who want to post up.
Always said Bev is a warrior. He has Artest's genes in him. One of my fav. players and a difference maker. **** the numbers. Come back and talk to me once you have figured out a way to measure the heart of a player. Bev's readings would be off the charts.
