I'm sure Morey attempted to move him for a late lotto, which, considering how talented this draft is, would have been a great move. I love Bev, really don't want him traded, but if you had an opp to get Monk or Kennard you've got to at least think about it.

Hopefully now he's only moved as part of a PG13 package, which seems unlikely.

    LOL

    3.25 in wins
    6 in losses

One series. And this was an outlier series.

Gimme a break. You are further proving my point.

Congratulations to Russell Westbrook for defending himself into handing Pat Beverley an All NBA Defensive team berth. For this he should be rewarded and honorary quadruple double award.

Clearly, Clutchfans was heavily influential in getting Beverley the accolade, allowing the overratedness to spread nation wide and generating zombie votes. We have now entered the dark ages of the NBA where a top 2 guard defender on the planet is incapable of even staying in front of his man an acceptable amout of time. Just a little tenacity, fight and peskiness is sufficient to secure the highest defensive accolade in the NBA these days. God help us all.

Surely, when the votes come in for defensive player of the year, it will further reveal just how good Westbrook is at defending himself. The real victim here is Klay Thompson, who continues to play for a team that does not receive the hype and coverage it deserves, whose defense is never acknowledged and who suffers from not having the opportunity to let Westbrook defend himself.

Hopefully, Morey is working the phones as we speak. Like Brewer and his tenacity and fight and pesky defense, Beverley's salary may seem acceptable in the grand scheme of things, but I don't know if we need to be paying someone $5m to let Westbrook defend himself. Fingers crossed.

I also want to take this opportunity to congratulate @heypartner. This evening he was nominated for Most Epic Necrobump of 2017. Well deserved buddy.

    Why is that tweet relevant?

I don't see the Rockets making any trades until Chris Paul has agreed to sign with Houston.

If they pull the trigger on any of those trades than it will be clear to me that we are getting CP3. Will be interesting to see moving forward.

At this point in time, this is all posturing for trades that will happen once FA hits.

Sean Deveney: Patrick Beverley did not want to play with Harden any longer

In the end, Rockets point guard Patrick Beverley did not much want to keep playing with Rockets star James Harden. He’d done what he could to make things work last season under new coach Mike D’Antoni, and the fact that the team was winning papered over any problems in the locker room.

But the Harden no-show in Game 6 of the conference semifinals against the Spurs last month — Harden had 10 points on 2-for-11 shooting and six turnovers — was not just a bizarre ending to a stellar season for Harden, it was also a concern for many on the Rockets, Beverley included. It was one reason Beverley was open to a trade, and he let the Rockets know it after the year was over.

And the Rockets pulled off a major move on Wednesday, sending Beverley, along with forward Sam Dekker and a 2018 draft pick, to the Clippers in exchange for star guard Chris Paul. It is a blockbuster that stunned many in the league, even as Paul — a nine-time All-Star — heads to a team that is intent on giving the Warriors a run in the Western Conference.

A backcourt of Harden and Paul is packed with talent, and it’s possible that the Rockets are not done dealing. But the Rockets still have an overriding question that will loom over this franchise for as long as Harden is on the roster: Can anyone play with Harden?

This is not an Xs and Os question, though there are valid concerns about how the Rockets will find enough touches for both Paul and Harden, two ball-dominant guards. D’Antoni’s offensive credentials are well-established, and given the pace his teams employ, there will be plenty of possessions to split. But working both Paul and Harden into an offense will be a challenge.

As important will be how Harden handles his new teammate. We saw, already, how things went when Harden was paired with Dwight Howard, an experiment that ended when Howard hit free agency last summer. Howard and Harden had an ever-deteriorating relationship, and their locker room tension spilled over onto the court, sending a team that had won 56 games and earned a spot in the conference finals to a 41-41 record.

But Howard bore at least as much responsibility for that mess as Harden. Howard’s history of setting flame to team chemistry is well-known, going back to Orlando, then on to the Lakers, Houston and again last season in Atlanta. Maybe if Harden was a better leader, he could have more successfully integrated Howard into the Rockets’ fold. But that’s a tall task for any player.

Once Howard was gone, though, there were still teammate concerns about Harden, and that has to worry the Rockets. They only have one year for certain with Paul, who agreed to opt in on the final year of his contract and delay free agency.

It also has to worry Paul, who has a good reputation among his fellow players and is well-liked enough to have been voted president of the NBPA. Even playing with stars DeAndre Jordan and Blake Griffin in LA, Paul has had firm control over his team and his locker room each year.

Can he maintain that, though, with the Rockets? Working out the Paul-Harden dynamic will be difficult enough for D’Antoni’s playbook. But keeping the locker room together will not be easy, either.

Trying to continue the #fakenews narrative that no one wants to play with Harden... I think the no one wants to play with Dwight narrative is stronger.

So Bev, 2017 Hustle Player of the Year and First Team Defensive Player, no longer wanted to play with Harden so he forced trade to the Clippers and all the Rockets got was a 32 year old guy named Chris Paul in return? Damn. Morey always gets fleeced... by the media.

    Dumb, guessing article is dumb.

In 4 years there will be some other move and then they'll say "really what we heard was x,y,z" ... which will then be refuted 2 hours later by a completely different article.

CP3 didn't like Austin Rivers? Or CP3 pushed for Austin to start? Or CP3 didn't get along with Griffin? Or he did?

Or... blah, blah, blah, blah, blah
