    They pissed away their potential $365 million per year trust fund. For Hamas, I guess "jihad" takes precedence over their own people.

    U.S. halts funding to U.N. agency helping Palestinian refugees

    The United States on Friday halted all funding to a U.N. agency that helps Palestinian refugees in a decision further heightening tensions between the Palestinian leadership and the Trump administration.

    A spokesman for Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas denounced the decision as “a flagrant assault against the Palestinian people and a defiance of U.N. resolutions.”

    State Department spokeswoman Heather Nauert said the business model and fiscal practices of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) were an “irredeemably flawed operation.”

    “The administration has carefully reviewed the issue and determined that the United States will not make additional contributions to UNRWA,” she said in a statement.

    Nauert said the agency’s “endlessly and exponentially expanding community of entitled beneficiaries is simply unsustainable and has been in crisis mode for many years.”

    The latest announcement comes a week after the administration said it would redirect $200 million in Palestinian economic support funds for programs in the West Bank and Gaza.

    UNRWA did not immediately comment on the U.S. decision.

    Maybe I am missing something, but what has this decision got to do with Hamas or even Palestinians like you claimed?

    Seems the decision was made by US and was done against UNRWA.

    In fact, its more logical to accuse the Trump administration of withdrawing the funds without cause, as is another act in support of Isreal. After all if there are more beneficiaries, US might not increase the allocated funds but doesnt seem a justified reason to withdraw funds - that should require some form of misuse

    The Palestinian people need money but the US is withdrawing/denying said funds.

    Is it not then reasonable that such provides an opportunity for others (like Iran) to provide them the needed money, while presenting themselves as friends and characterizing the US 'who left them to suffer' as enemies, ergo increased radicalism?

    It would have been better if the US had never been giving them money, than the recent withdrawal. It has always been easier to buy the loyalty of people in need.

    Pakistan, too, shot itself in the foot. Thankfully we no longer live under the tyranny of a masochistic presidential administration. To such deviant administrations, there is nothing as rewarding as paying someone to not be a terrorist, only to have them become a terrorist.

    Pakistan has 200 million people with very few options... not a place I'd withdraw help to under a false pretext. The government has never been competent either, what's $300 mil to the US to avoid much more money in defense when hundreds of thousands of kids are radicalized over the next decade?

    History be damned, Palestinians have too much against them to not form a joint state with these guys. They simply cannot grow or have hope in their current situation without heavy international economic aid, and that's something Israel will always control. The approach to eventually overcome the west by overpopulating and outmanning the rest of the world works against them.
