I agree on Blake. I give him a lot of credit for developing his game outside of just dunking and running, which is all hright was the first couple years. That being said, he has tried to add a 3pt shot but he isn’t any good at. He really does only have that dribble dribble crossover crossover pull-up over a less athletic 4 that Gilbert talked about. He is horrible defensively and without his athleticism he is a bench player. Blake just isn’t some high end top tier talent. I’d put him in the 20-25 range in the modern nba. About kawhi, I agree and disagree. Yeah he didn’t hold these all time greats to even below their regular season average but I give credit to great players playing great. But also, I agree that the shrink defense the spurs employ helps him look more stellar than he is albeit he is a very very good defender. Just much more stellar against league average talent than high end talent. For instance I remember last year harden cooking his ass all game. Beating him off the dribble, pulling up easily, crossing him up. Only for kawhi to have one great defensive chase down block at the backboard and everyone was like “OHHH amazing! The best defender in the league blah blah blah”. Give him credit it was a great play but he was far from amazing that game. Offensively he’s just not a #1 imo. I don’t think he is top 3 either. I think he CAN be your #1 guy on a championship in the right system, ie the spurs but he’s better off being a robin. Sure he has been efficient in the spurs offense but he can’t create his own shot really, he can’t drive with any regularity, he’s not a good facilitator. He’s very good at what the spurs need and he probably still is the best 2 way player but only because there aren’t a lot of great 2 way players in the league right now. But kawhi is a top 10 player for sure and you can argue top 5 but I put him around 6-7
