This doesn't really mean much though.

It's really all about what LeBron wants to do. If he did want to come to Houston, they'd figure out how to get him the money he wanted.

Seeing as how we still have to get rid of Lin, the word duh comes to mind.

Obviously, they have a trade to get Lin out lined up (I read that Hinkie would take Lin if it meant getting Dmo)

That's still not enough to give him the max. I assumed that's what the article is talking about.

I would think Lebron would go to the team with the best chances at a championship. It's not all about the money. duh

The Rockets could keep their entire starting lineup from last year and *still* offer Lebron within ~$800k of his max salary.

The Rockets could keep pretty much their entire team (other than Lin and Asik) and still offer Lebron within ~$2.7 million of his max salary.

Paying Lebron won't be a huge impediment for the Rockets.

Wow. It boggles the mind to even think Houston is in the running for the BEST player in the world. Who would have seriously thought this would ever be the case even 3 seasons ago????

Morey's moves have seriously paid off, even if Houston does not sign Lebron. Harden & Howard alone make the Rockets a top 5 contender in the West and Morey is always looking for ways to improve the team NOW.

I need to apply for the Washington Post. I can't believe I can write more sensible stuff about sports while wasting time on the internet and not getting paid.

Newsflash: every nba team would manufacture cap space if it meant that Lebron wanted to go to that team.
