Somebody else is going to have to talk about that AB, because I'm not going to mention Correa getting up 3-1 with 2 runners on & 1 out and then watching a middle-in FB and a middle-out FB with the runners moving. One of yall can bring that up.

Correa and his strikeouts, gawt damn man. Is he leading the league in this category? Dude watches pitches down the middle and swings at pitches way out of the zone. This is his 3rd year, you'd think he would be getting better but I am underwhelmed at his plate discipline.

Correa still hasn't put it all together as a player up to this point in his career. He looks like he thinks too much at the plate at times. Lets beach balls go by too often.

While he does watch a lot of strikes, he does not chase many balls.

Then bat him ****ing leadoff ;)

He's hitting in a place where your job is to hit the ball and drive in runs.

I think the inside pitching really bothers him. He has the the whole face guard thing on, and after getting 2 up and in he just takes fastballs down the middle?

Oh I will. I have faith that Correa will right the ship but he looks like a different guy the last month or so. It would make sense if it was health related but this is really inexplicable

I've seen him swing at more than enough outside sliders that were inches off the plate. So frustrating to watch as I expected this to be the year he really broke out.

Jim1971 (or whatever those numbers are) is that you?

Everyone swings at pitches out of the zone. It is incredibly hard to diagnose fastball from breaking pitches. Correa is better than most (Top 50 in not chasing balls). When Correa is seeing the ball well, his passive approach is dominant as he's only swinging at meat pitches. He's not going to change his approach because he's slumping.

I would also like to add - yet again - how much I love this pitching staff. Talk about a saving grace.

    I got all numbers.

I'm not being totally serious btw, if you haven't noticed. I would like Carlos to swing the ****ing bat when the situation dictates it.

I would love for him to have some of Springers mentality or maybe Charlie's. Not sure

I got that you weren't serious. I'm just tired that every time a "passive" hitter has a slump, it is because he's passive. When he slumps, it isn't because of his approach (at least it usually isn't). It is because hitting is hard and everyone has slumps. Carlos has found an approach that works better than all, but about 10 people.

Sometimes it is. Usually it takes something of Ensberg proportions to see it.

You realize that he has been statistically way more passive this year and it just magically coincided with a slump of epic proportions
