Man what a brutal start at the plate Springer .048 Altuve .174 Bregman .174 Tucker .188 Reddick .182 Yuli .238 Carlos, Brantley and Martin carrying us. The bats have to wake up as we are having to use children on the mound right now.
No, in regards to the pandemic. A 60 game season, lack of trades that’ll probably occur, the uncertainty of even finishing the season. That’s what I’m referring to.
5th actually. More telling is our team OPS of .734 for 14th place. 14th in team Whip as well. A 3-3 record. They all say the same thing. We are merely an average team at this point.
The bats will get going on the road. Not a doubt in my mind. Hopefully our pitchers can pitch like they did the last 2 nights. Golden opportunity blown but need to have a short memory. Maybe dusty should consider using greinke as a bunter in extra inning games....
The Astros hit 3-for-19 with runners in scoring position Wednesday. During the last four games, they went 10-for-48 with RISP. “You can’t hit if you don’t swing,” Dusty Baker said. “Sometimes I think we can be a little more aggressive early in the count" Jose Altuve, George Springer and Alex Bregman went 9-for-67 during the Astros' first six-game homestand. “You know these guys are going to hit. It’s impossible for these guys not to hit. We just have to regroup.” Dusty Baker on the missed opportunities (15 LOB) and offensive struggles: "We know these guys are going to hit, that's impossible for them not to hit.... maybe the California air will do them some good." Dusty Baker says he was fined due to COVID-19, his players came onto the field. Dusty Baker: "They didn't bunt. We didn't bunt. Nobody bunted." Replay is supposed to help you get it RIGHT!
I don't see the urgency in the Stros. Those extra innings, they could of bunted in each of them. Just win, you don't have to win pretty. 60 games goes by fast and there may not be 60 games played considering the Marlins situation. We are tops in scoring yet our best players are hitting less than 2. I don't see any team in the division running away and hiding.
Even more telling is the 11th in pitching WAR and 6th in position player WAR. Though still early and this doesn't mean much.
