It really pains me Obama is acting this way. His energy is needed somewhere else. Not one word from this dude when Trump has gone nuts, but it's Bernie potentially winning when he speaks up.. smh

How is this still a thread? Sanders is just in it for a kickback to give an endorsement to the real candidate so he can buy another house.

Acting like a chump for the moderates after running like a progressive populist in 2008 and 2012

What are you talking about? He absolutely said those things. Not only did he say those things, Obama and his team had to clarify his statements Which made him look even worse.

Obama said he would speak up to stop Bernie Sanders from being the nominee. I'm pretty sure you're trolling me since this has been in the news for weeks. Democrats have been preaching party unity except when it comes to Bernie Sanders.

Asked about that, a spokesperson for Obama pointed out that Obama recently said he would support and campaign for whoever the Democratic nominee is.

I really don't know what you want me to do with this. So, Is this evidence of Obama NOT saying he would meddle to keep Bernie from the nomination? Obama said he would try to keep Bernie from the nomination, but if that fails he would support him?

    some support.

Good lord this thread is going off the rails into stupidly quick.

I will say one thing.... after spending the week with Trump diehards the two people that they would never vote for under and circumstance in their words are Bernie and Warren.

Now... I know they are full of it and will never NOT vote for Trump, but it is still important to understand narrative and how FoxNews watchers get narrative out there and really pollute the minds of the majority of the low information voters.

I personally would support Bernie and think he would be a decent president but I understand what Bernie winning the nomination means in terms of low information voter narrative that could have an impact in turnout and winning. Even with a narrow win, we still likely have massive turnout on the other end that firmly plants more Republicans in Congress and gives Bernie a presidency where nothing can get done because of fear mongering from the right that shuts the government down for 4 or 8 years.

It’s that objective fear that Obama was likely speaking to. I believe he’ll campaign like hell for him, but him being the nominee just creates a wave of counter reaction that you might not get from a more widely popular candidate.

Still... Mayor Pete said it best. Everyone on that stage will be called a Socialist and a Communist eventually so why does it matter? The fears of Dems of Bernie is probably overreacting but it is real among Dems.

I didn't see this posted anywhere.

Hillary Clinton absolutely destroyed Bernie Sanders in her Howard Stern interview
Analysis by Chris Cillizza, CNN Editor-at-large
Updated 11:38 AM ET, Thu December 5, 2019

(CNN) Out of office and (seemingly) unlikely to ever run for any public office again, Hillary Clinton is throwing off her decades-long guardedness to offer her raw opinions about, well, everything.

And in an interview with Howard Stern Wednesday for a new book she co-wrote with her daughter, Chelsea, Clinton absolutely drops the hammer on none other than Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders.

Asked by Stern whether she hated Sanders for the long primary campaign he ran against her in 2016 and the slowness with which he offered his eventual endorsement, Clinton said "I don't hate anybody," before adding about the time it took Sanders to endorse her: "He could have. He hurt me, there's no doubt about it."

Then she delivered the dagger: "And I hope he doesn't do it again to whoever gets the nomination. Once is enough."

    Woof.

Clinton's comments to Stern about Sanders are remarkable put-downs -- with multiple layers . . .

    Continued . . .

    That's not destroying anybody.

    This is obvious click bait.
