[Premium Post] No, that is a foolish comparison. Donald J Trump has lived a life of luxury and sexual achievement. As such, he has the physical and mental powers of a healthy and vibrant man. Bernie on the other hand spent many of his adult years living in a Volkswagen microbus and bathing once a week. GOOD DAY
"Bernie On Being A Millionaire: I Didn’t Know It Was A Crime To Write A Bestselling Book": "His preferred justification instead, essentially, is 'Sorry for being successful.' Which literally every self-made millionaire in the United States — and most millionaires are self-made — could also say." https://hotair.com/archives/2019/04/15/bernie-millionaire-didnt-know-crime-write-bestselling-book/ discussing this tweet:
The way Bernie has railed against the rich while he is one himself is hilarious. While his wife got paid a ton of money while a public college went bankrupt to capitalizing on socialism by selling books making money and owning two homes. Yet America is unfair??? The hypocrisy is just disgusting. "It's not a crime to sell a book?" Yeah most wealthy Americans would say the same about their profession but that wouldn't matter to Bernie who demonized anyone who is millionaire or billionaire for decades. Liar and fraud. Typical liberal do as I say, not as I do.
I will post this in the Buttigieg for president thread as it sort of explains why he has come out of the box so strong. I can't help contrasting how such mainstream media as ABC gave Sanders a total of 1 minute of coverage in the first year of the campaign while hey gave Trump much more coverage. https://www.mediamatters.org/blog/2015/12/11/abc-world-news-tonight-has-devoted-less-than-on/207428 https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/16/us/politics/bernie-sanders-democratic-party.html "The matter of What To Do About Bernie and the larger imperative of party unity has, for example, hovered over a series of previously undisclosed Democratic dinners in New York and Washington organized by the longtime party financier Bernard Schwartz. The gatherings have included scores from the moderate or center-left wing of the party, including Speaker Nancy Pelosi; Senator Chuck Schumer, the minority leader; former Gov. Terry McAuliffe of Virginia; Mayor Pete Buttigieg of South Bend, Ind., himself a presidential candidate; and the president of the Center for American Progress, Neera Tanden."
A classic example of the type of big think that right wingers do Their heroes are the billionaires who buy our poliiticans and rig the tax code to pay no taxes, rip off their workers, raid their pensions, go bankrupt etc but are just swell since they are not hypocrites. Trump is their guy; no hypocrite Trump. For what it is worth Bernie was the poorest US senator until his book was a bestseller. The wife got a "ton of money". What was her salary a 100k something? A "ton" for Rocketman, the typical little guy who poses as a bigshot on the internet. lol Let me help Poor Rocketman as all he has is Fox. The old PRIVATE tiny college had 70 students when it closed. Jane Sanders’ tenure as president of the tiny school in Burlington, Vt., saw it make a bold real estate purchase to replace its cramped quarters: Sanders spearheaded a deal to buy 33 acres along Lake Champlain, in hopes that the scenic property would help the college attract new students and donors...But the large expenditure didn’t pan out https://www.politico.com/story/2016/05/burlington-college-jane-sanders-close-223222
Making money from a book is the exact same thing as what Sanders talking about. It’s that simple glynch. Have your own opinion people. But at least come with some f’ing substance.
He doesn't say no one should be rich. He says the rich should pay more in taxes. Just like Gates and Buffet, he thinks he himself should pay more tax along with the rest of the rich. How is this hypocritical?
There *should* be awards like that! Maybe not every week...but at least annual, with maybe some things deserving monthly recognition. Another board I was on had awards like that. Post, Thread, Poster, various other categories. Mods???
You think a 70+ year old man who sells books and had a career 6 figure salary accumulating 1 million dollars of wealth over the course of his lifetime is the type of excessive wealth accumulation that Bernie claims is ruining the country? Really? You know it's so obvious when people post from a insincere standpoint.
So, it's ok when left wingers do this? Just checking... FWIW, if you think left wingers don't do this, there's the problem. If anything, it's more prominent on the left.
I will support the side that at least is willing to select Supreme Court judges who disagree with the Citizens United ruling. What you are doing is essentially sincere trolling. Do you think a 70 year old accumulating 1 million dollars over the course of his lifetime is the excessive wealth accumulation that Bernie has been discussing for the past multiple decades?
Yeah... this is just about the worst possible answer and he had to know he would be asked about it. Obviously being President is important to him. What he should have done is donated 300-400 K of the million he made. Then he could twist the question to his advantage. Instead he used the defense Republicans have used for 150 years... “I earned it.” I already had questions about Sanders... but the way he handled such a simple issue raises more questions.
There are certainly Liberals that do it as well. However, no, they don’t do it more often than Conservatives.
