Your post count does go up exponentially in losses vs. wins. As does the b****ing and second-guessing... which usually also happens after losses rather than supportive/credit-giving posts after wins. There's a word for that sort of one-sided reactionary behavior... In the end, I agree that the hitting (or the Rays pitching) dictated tonight's game more than JV starting on 3 days rest. The bats won't stay dormant forever... but thus the beauty (and curse) of small sample size baseball, they need to show up the next game.
Agreed. The offense has been putrid True. The inept offense was a bigger problem than the pitching. Hopefully we turn the table and do well enough overall.
I’m so glad we don’t play tomorrow. The hitters need a day to do something different. I’ll be there ****ed up as always on Thursday night!
Man what the **** ever, I give them plenty of credit when the do well and I won't apologize with venting when they don't do well. Similar to when the phone lines light up on after game shows after disappointing games.
I feel like being mad and amped up as a baseball hitter is a bad thing. It's why Yodran was chasing at everything. You have to be calm and collected and stick the the game plan. You also see Springer guilty of this also when he gets amped. He'll chase at everything trying to take it out of the park.
I'm pretty sure Maldonado has caught every one of Cole's starts since Aug 1st (ie when he was traded to us). You don't mess with that.
Yes, congrats on being a proud member of that insufferable demographic. There's an exponential difference... try balancing out some. Try it in all aspects of your life.
. Maldonado's been solid, solid this season. He'll have a chance to continue to atone for last year if we can advance...
Yikes, I knew they were good but this is just stupid. Cole pitching to Maldonado: .150 .189 .282 .471; 1.57 ERA; 10 GS, 68.2 IP, 35 H, 11 BB, 114 K
One big theme I've seen throughout this entire series is our batters falling behind the count pretty consistently in the majority of ABs. Their pitchers seem to always be pitching from ahead in the count which makes it really easy for them to keep our hitters on their heels. That's where having guys like Springer and Altuve locked in helps so much. They can jump all over early fastballs, and get some traffic on the bases. Need to see A LOT of that on Thursday night. If we're hitting out of 1-2 counts the entire night, we're ****ed.
