Seems like with Clinton gone, there is a need and a desperation for finding the next target. It's quite irrational that she is the target, but then it's quite rational for a group that depends on irrational fear to survive. You won't be hearing about any new ideas from the GOP, but just attacks on every DEM as a socialist that will destroy America.

Judy Curry on the problems of climate change attribution as regards Hurricane Florence

    https://judithcurry.com/2018/09/18/hurricane-florence-climate-dynamics-context/

    bottom line quote:

"I’ve scratched the surface of the complex issues surrounding the weather and climate dynamics of Florence, but the take home point is that convincingly attributing any of this to human caused global warming is very challenging, and the strategies used by the mainstream climate community to do this (#2, #3) are woefully inadequate and misleading to scientists, the public and policy makers."

I don't know what the "mainstream climate community" is at all, but the vast majority of scientists have been saying for years, clearly and repetitively: we are *increasing the odds* of stronger larger wetter more damaging storms by increasing atmospheric CO2.

If that is too complicated or too fun to spin for politicians and tribalists, so be it.

Twitter seems like a terrible place for anything. But it's absolutely the worst place for science.

The costs of fighting climate change are no where near worth the benefits. Economics needs to play its role in the debate -- no logical decisions are made purely on scientific theories. You must incorporate a cost-benefit analysis, which the climate change crusaders have failed to do. That's why they can't persuade people. Well, that and the fact that their hysterical climate change predictions have been terribly and consistently wrong throughout the years.

Climate change is not science. It's political science. That's the problem. I'm smart enough to figure this out, whereas you are not.

    GOOD DAY

Given the dearth of stupid Ocasio tweets, how about we talk about this instead?

Scoff at the idea of living wage, but is restoring dignity to blue collar or dirty jobs a worthy goal to achieve? If it is, then what are other means towards getting there?

Insuring good healthcare for working class Americans would help them immensely. She's an ardent supporter of that goal, same as Bernie. ObamaCare is very flawed and while far better than nothing, which is what "existed " before, it needs to be replaced with single payer national health insurance. A common definition of the term is, "Single-payer national health insurance, also known as “Medicare for all,” is a system in which a single public or quasi-public agency organizes health care financing, but the delivery of care remains largely in private hands. ... Doctors would regain autonomy over patient care." Working class Americans not having to bankrupt themselves to care for a family member's (or their own) health problems, or the same group having to take their family member (or themselves) to an emergency room because they can't afford health insurance would restore some dignity, in my humble opinion.

Puerto Rico's current status IS an act of charity. You'd have to be a complete idiot to think otherwise.

While a Nazi is certainly the moral equivalent of a socialist, there's a pretty big difference in that Arthur Jones was denounced by both the state GOP and the national GOP. The ONLY reason he "won" the primary is that no Republicans ran and he's going to lose the election easily to Democrat Dan Lipinski. There certainly wasn't anyone in the GOP touting this lunatic as "The new face of the Republican party", and he didn't beat a Republican incumbent.....

So when you are looking for a false equivalence in the future, perhaps do a better job of it in order to fool literally anyone into going along with your nonsense.

First, a Nazi is not a moral equivalent of a socialist and saying such is either ignorant or highly delusional

As to 'denoucing', isn't that is the GOPs modus operandi - they accepted him into the party, let him contest the primaries, 'denounce' after he has won, but dont kick him out. They basically hedge their position such that in the impossibility that he wins, they can still use him to push their agenda. Kinda like what they did with Trump - he was bad for the GOP until he won. At least the democrats are true enough to their positions.

Besides Jones, you still have others like Fitzgerald and Corey Stewart. One has to wonder why these people gravitate to the GOP and the GOP accepts them with open arms. Of course you (like a good GOP propagandist) never bring up such. The hypocrisy of you post are just too obvious.

That's sort of true, socialists have a MUCH higher body count than Nazis, it's just that Nazisim is the closest thing approaching the horrors of socialism that I could come up with. Your ignorance of that fact won't change anything.

Body count? Capitalism has the highest body count of all and thus must be the worst of all

Now that's just adorably feeble minded of you, but not something that merits serious discussion.

Capitalism has the highest body count of bringing billions of Indians and Chinese out of extreme poverty and starvation caused by socialism.

Thanks for clarifying your position that you think capitalists are worse than Nazis tho. It will be very helpful in the future to put your posts in context.
