One thing about adam silver's tenure is that he is certainly moving the game forward in particular ways. I heard about the new freedom of movement emphasis in the preseason and now we are seeing how much it has effected the ability to play defense.

As a person who loves defense, I can't say that I am happy about it. I never watch the allstar game because no defense, and this is like we are watching an allstar game every night.

It's certainly becoming a completely different game compared to the 90s. NBA is accentuating the offense more and more, and making the defense less important. Players who would've been complete busts in the 90s (Nik Stauskas) are now able to become rotation players. I think it's good for the white/asian players who usually aren't very good defenders because of their lack of length/wingspan. :D

Terrible. Makes the game less competitive & more like watching a allstar game. Not sure why they did this. Your basically letting the refs control the game even more now. Dumb dumb dumb

    It is trash.

It will introduce even more ambiguity and ref bias.

Refs can decide when they want to impose it and when they can let it go.

People always complain when something changes, no matter what it is. But man... THIS... it's killing me. This isn't even basketball anymore.

I hate this and the 14 second shot clock. The NBA feels gimmicky now

I am a huge fan of this new rule.

Let's be honest, the real reason we watch the NBA is to see those middle age-plus men run up and down the floor in their gray shirts. The tone of their whistles, the intensity of their hand gestures, and the way they bend the game to their will... It's truly something to behold.

Offensive efficiency was fine last year, the end of game TO limits were great.

Not sure why they messed with it again.

Change that didn’t need to happen. Have a feeling this one may get deemphasized as the season goes along.

And there's no reason to keep artificially inflating the scoreboards. They've reached the point where the ROI just isn't there anymore. The product didn't get any better. They might as well have kept the rules the same and changed 2's into 4's and 3's into 6's.

If it prevents all of the illegal screens and grabbing that the Warriors do, then I'm all for it.

ahhh who am I kidding.. they're not gonna call anything on the Warriors

Seems a lot of the players are grumbling about it too.

    Hopefully it changes.

Defense is a thing you know. I'd like to see defenders still have something to do in the league and not every game become a shootout.

It will look like the walking dead out there. Just a bunch of Hardens on defense.

Rest assured... it will all evaporate or be imposed in an even more unpredictable way when the playoffs arrive.

I can just see Harden getting hammered now without any calls "because it's the playoffs."

Whatever happens in the regular season won't prepare the Rockets for the playoffs. No one knows what will happen then.

The worst part is if this starts trickling down to rec ball. It's gonna make that guy that calls fouls on everything, actually CALL FOULS ON EVERYTHING!! HAHAHA
