Are you aware of Norm and his history and style ? This is exactly who he is and it’s why he has not been more successful, commercially speaking. I haven’t heard exactly what he’s said or done on this matter but him pushing the envelope to his own detriment sounds like him.
Love me some Norm.....when he's by himself. Put him with people and he's too much like your drunk uncle. A little goes a long way. That Carrot Top clip is a classic though.
Watched first few episodes and it's very Norm. He had fun with Spade, Drew, and Letterman but wasn't quite sure how far he could go with Judge Judy. Well worth watching.

Yes...... or he really just doesn't give a ****. This is nothing new for McDonald, he has sabotaged his career numerous times and really doesn't care. He REALLY lost it when he divorced his wife.
Love Norm. His awkward interviews are hit and miss. You stay for the confidence or when his insight and questioning pays off. Depends on the guest. Don't like Spade so I thought the episode sucked. Afterwards, I cherry picked the guest like Comedians Getting Coffee. Jane Fonda was pure gold. Letterman and Lorne Michaels "were like wtf is this? but I love ya Norm... You're one of a kind."
5 out 8 critics didn't like it. But I do think his recent comments may have affected some of the negative reviews. The population of "people" who have bothered to review it this early is almost certainly extremely skewed towards his enthusiastic fans. So, the discrepancy is not surprising. I'd guess that less than half of the general population would be interested in regularly watching his show.
I like Norm when he's the center of attention, not when he has to make someone else the center of attention. I got bored listening to David Spade ramble.
I think it's partially that and partially that the kinds of people who would whine about the kinds of things he'd say aren't his demographic to begin with. On top of that, those people who would feign outrage are the kinds of people who are viewed as nothing but a punch line to his demographic.....so in feigning outrage they are just giving him free publicity and an endorsement to his target demographic.
Thank you si much. I was binge listening to his podcast starting at the beginning a few months ago and it was the most hilarious part I've ever listened to. Then one day everything vanished and all the podcasts were yanked. Again thank you
Just caught up on the “scandal”. He had to go on The View to clear things up. He’s been on it before, so they were nice but they didn’t avoid anything. Never seen sad Norm before. This interrogation should help him out. I hope he keeps that naughty gleam in his eye when he says something edgy. What makes it hard for some people to forgive Louis CK is that he’s not talking about what he did, so women are thinking he’s not fully apologetic and banking on the system to lay low and get away with it.
The new show is also considerably less edgy from what I've seen of it. Some of the Norm Macdonald Live episodes really went off the rails, I think the Netflix producers are keeping it much more tame.
