These things are ****ing hideous. It's sad how most fans not only stopped being annoyed by these ugly ass ads, but I see people defending them now.

Soon, NBA uniforms will look like WNBA jerseys.

Just curious - - how do others feel about these sponsorships? I, for one, don't care either way; but, do others feel strongly (in any direction)?

I'm not a big fan of these. When I look back at iconic nba moments, I want to see harden hitting a game winner representing the rockets. Don't wanna see harden hitting that shot with a big ugly "Office Depot" logo on it.

If they decide to put any sponsor on a Rockets jersey I for one will never buy a jersey again. (I dont care if Frietta owns it or not. No Gold Nugget or Landrys) I dont mind wearing something in support of my team and being a "walking billboard" for my team but not for anything else. No restaurants, no charities, no whatever else that's not Rockets.

Just accept the reality. Everything is advertisement driven now. Is there a stadium/arena not named after a corporate brand anymore?

You do know that the only jerseys that have advertisements on them are NBA player game-worn jerseys, right?

Is “patches” a male or female word? Am I being insensitive by only thinking in binary terms of male or female?

I hate them. It is a weak cash grab for a a league flush in profit and cash. This is not like the WNBA that NEEDS that money. The NBA does NOT need that money. And it "trashes" the sanctity of the jersey and the brand of the team.

Sometimes you just have to say "no" to things.

THIS too! If I am buying a jersey, there is no way I want a SPONSOR patch on that jersey. I am buying the jersey to support the TEAM not promote a sponsor. Awful.

A sponsor on a jersey would be a non-starter for me as a consumer.

And MSG is an actual company as well, worth $7B. They got so big they decided to spin out their production business back in 2015. The company that spun out (MSG Networks) is worth nearly $2B now.

I wish there were more stadiums like “The Summit” or “The Astrodome”.

Going w/your response, why does today's WNBA need $$$? IIRC each team is owned by an NBA team and serves as a marketing tool thereof.

And just to be an arse, why the hey are salaries so suppressed in that league?

I honestly believe it's because those jerseys are counterfeit, and not officially sold by the NBA or the Lakers. From what I understand jerseys that are officially sold by the NBA do not come with advertisement patches. I 100% believe you saw you a fake Lebron jersey. In fact, I'm bet that it was a black and gold Lebron James Lakers jersey.
