I hope sudden death doesn't happen to a person before his time, but you're just making an assumption that the NBA won't do the same thing for a particular team if _____ were to die tomorrow. I'll eat crow if there's actually a double standard, but again, you're just assuming.

From a scheduling standpoint, it's easier to postpone 1 game than it is 8. And by your logic, what about the livelihoods of all the workers for the 8 home teams, if all 8 were postponed? It would be okay that the Lakers game was postponed if the 8 yesterday were also? What about the teams that wouldn't be scheduled on any of these days? Would their games be postponed too, the next time they played? It would be a logistical nightmare and a disruption of many more lives.

Kobe Bryant was a living legend for the only team he played for, in a career spanning 20 years. One postponement of a game shouldn't bother you that much, especially when you consider the logistics of the entire NBA. Again, the Lakers aren't playing an 81 game season - they're still playing all 82. Although the livelihoods of the workers will be somewhat impacted, they're not coming out of this with zero money.

I bet no NBA player is saying or thinking the same thing you are, that it's "unfair" that I have to play while they don't.

I made it very clear, no games postponed so half your reply is invalid. I don't think I would have an issue if Kobe were a current player. But you had guys like IT play with his sister dying and other examples like that.

It bothers me because 16 other teams were forced to play HOURS after the tragedy but Lakers get a choice over 24 hours later?!? Makes no sense in a league that is supposed to be honest competition. Again this isn't a current player or coach who's tragic untimely death could impact competition. This is an ex-player who in no way shape or form can impact the current coaching staff or players of the team.

i understand and agree to a certain degree breh. but to me the league is like a private entertainment company and they really can do whatever they want, especially in the interest of their golden child.

i don't mind that they postponed this game, tho they also should have done it yesterday if this is the case. but like others have said, rescheduling 1 game is easier than 8(?) others. ultimately i'm ok because i know the nba isn't a fairplay league.

personally, i would have made the lakers/clips play because this would be such a good opportunity to honor kobe and from a ratings standpoint, it would be off the charts. having the 2 teams play later dampens the impact significantly
